G’day and merry Xmas to all
Has any body fitted up a heal toe shifter set to the valk ?
I had the “ add on “ unit on a 1500 gold wing years back and loved it
Currently running cobra boards and not in a hurry to change the mount but interested in heal toe shifting
Cheers team
Luke

There was a Kuryakyn unit (long discontinued), but you will not find one. There was a Rattlebars (long discontinued), that you might find. More used these than any other. (Pinwall Cycle in Ohio, or maybe our classified) MC Enterprises made a spendy heel-toe-floorboard (discontinued) package that was pretty clunky, but worked. There is apparently a way to modify an 1800 Gold Wing heel toe shifter. http://www.valkyrieriders.com/shoptalk/1800wingshiftermod.pdf

I have the RattleBars shifter. Still have to reach back to shift. But. Better than having to try and hook my size 13 under that tiny shifter . Not much help. Good luck on your journey, mate .

The standard 1500 add on looks like it would bolt straight in ,,,,,,, but thats an expensive trial
Any one used that ?

Yes, no issue, bolts straight on (GW GL1500). I love a heel-toe shifter, at least on my 1100 Shadow. Had it on 2 different Valkyries, and removed them each time after 200-300 miles, hated it, couldn't get it to work, or I didn't like how it shifted is maybe better words. Size 10 shoe. Note: I went to the post Hook reference, and see I posted there about the GW heel-toe, seems I only put it on the Goldwing I had, tried it twice. Never did put it on the Valkyrie, sorry.

You don’t happen to still have one of them ? So confirming the ADD ON kit fits ?

I do, somewhere, I know I've seen it.
Problem is shipping cost is high, getting it across the border legally is very time consuming and fun at the border.
I don't cross too often anymore, once every 1/4 or so.

http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,83587.0.htmlCheck out this post. I've done 2 Valks this way and I can't tell any difference from the rattlbars unless I look down. Ken's original post doesn't have picture any longer, but there enough info there to figure it out. Good luck. Thanks Ken, again.

Have you a link to the post ? So far i have gotten one of the guys from work to make me a SS approximation of the foot peg relocation bracket I am using the upper set back hole for the pivot point Later i may make a direct linkage to the primary shift arm, though this may sit in the skunk works a while .,.,.., Anyway hoping to mount up this weekend !!

I've run Rattlebars units on several different Valkyries - 2x I/S and 2x Tourer. The first I/S and the second Tourer had/have Cobra floorboards, while the 2nd I/S and 1st Tourer have/had large ISO-pegs.
The OEM shifters were modified to include a bronze flange bearing over which the Kick Shifter's engagement loop fits. Makes for a more positive shift, as did the installation of Shifter Buddies on the two latest Valks.
This is going to be a swap-meet-scrounging effort, but:
Back in the 70s and early 80s, a company called Triple A made floorboards, crash bars and optional heel-toe shifters for a number of so-called UJMs. I had these on a CB750 SOHC as well as a GL1100A - I have also seen them on various Kawasakis and Suzukis.
The shift crank (which replaces the stock shift lever), actuator rods, Heim joints can all be re-used on a Valkyrie H/T project. Depending on the model, the H/T shifter arm itself may be re-used. As another poster pointed out, one could attach the shifter by its pivot to the Valkyrie's peg mount - or fabricate a new mount which optimally positions things.
I always watch for this stuff when cruising the swap meets.

Nice
There are a bunch of after market shifter linkages out there
I was figuring on getting a preloved shift crank to use with an after market linkage and fabricate a bell crank for the heal toe
It’s gonna take a little time and messing about but pretty much what i want out of this I think
However the current heal toe arm i have has a large slot to stuff over the shifter, so i need to make a new arm or pretty it up,, not quite there yet

You talking to the dogs? The look already heeled. I'm talking to the subject line. I don't think the OP wanted his toe's health to improve. BTW, I'm just yanking his chain.
