too cold for them dropping off of trees in Florida.  Hate to get hit by one of them falling on my head freaking me out.

Yep, it happens. They are not dead, cold blooded. I pick them up and set them where they can warm up. Or I'll get in the boat and pull them out of the water. We have some that are huge and considered neighborhood pets.
