So many colors to choose from yet so few stand out

Georgia Bulldogs overwhelmed TCU last night 65 to 7.

The most dominating national championship game ever.

No doubt they were the best team on the field and in the nation.

Congrats to GA.  But that was a very sucky game.   Tongue

Congrats to TCU too for a great season.  What happened?  I didn't expect them to win, but I expected a game.

I can't and won't try to explain what happened to TCU other than, they were not prepared to play a team the caliber of GA.   GA dominated on both sides of the ball.

Although (and I'm sure some will take exception to this), it was clear to anyone watching that TCU wasn't going to make a comeback in the second half and yet the GA coaching staff not only permitted but encouraged and did everything they could to run up the score.   Lost a lot of respect for the GA coaches last night.

When the shoe is on the other foot in the future GA is getting their butt's kicked, most folks won't have any sympathy.   I say that and I was pulling for GA to win but, they should have started putting in second and third string guys early in the second half and kept the ball on the ground, they would have still dominated, they already proved they were much better.

I was all hyped up to watch the game. Didn’t take long for it to become not much of a game.  Angry

I turned it off at halftime.  Slow steady murder is hard to watch.   Tongue

I was hoping that the GA 2d/3d teams would get to play in the 2d half.  Those guys practice just as hard as the 1st team, and should be given the opportunity to play in a national championship spotlight, or any game really when they are way ahead (or behind).

It didn't look like TCU could come back, even against 2d string.

I will never forget one of my friends on the HS football team telling me after the final game that he didn't get one minute of playing time the whole season.  That's wrong for any guy who practices his ass off all season long (even if he isn't much of a football player).   We won games by 40, and lost games by 40 and he should have played in those games.  He didn't come out the the next year, and who can blame him?

I've been involved in a few conversations this morning.   Although quite a few folks agree with us on the 2d/3rd strings entry into the game, not one GA fan agrees.   As Gomer Pyle said, Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!!

GA unquestionably has the best team in college football.  They didn't have to beat TCU 65-7 (pedal to the metal) to prove it.

That almost justifies an unsportsmanlike conduct flag, in my book.

This post cast a lot of light on this game as I did Not watch it. I'm with that thought of let em all play at least a down or two. When I coached T ball and little league with mt first family in Texas All the kids that came out paid the same for shirts and caps. Whether we were gittin our butts handed to us or handin the other team their butts All those on my TEAM played every game. Parents Grand Parents Aunts Uncles did NOT come to a game to see one or two of their own just warmin the pine. I got way more kudos for that than I got chastised. RIDE SAFE.

Allow me to explain it for anyone that was not paying attention. The National Championship game was played on 12/31/2022. Ga. vs. Ohio State. The final score was 42-41.

For the soft-hearted (and 'lost all respect' folks), it was not noted in your 'mercy rule' when TCU (spanked, whooped, annihilated, embarrassed, throttled, brought to their knees, etc.) Iowa State in their march to the college 'Superbowl' , of sorts. TCU started bringing on the 2nd/3rd string players when the score was 55 - 7. Ga. Bulldogs, being merciful, like they are, started when the score was 52 - 7. Ga. did not 'explode', as it was, TCU 'imploded'.

Well, I said some would take exception to what I said.   Ride safe.  Wink

Hey Rams,

I did not take exception to it, actually, I enjoyed every post in this thread. I was just having some fun. Never have been good at bantering with words on a computer screen (in person has always been better).

I actually thought that TCU deserved to be in the championship game and was greatly looking forward to watching a back and forth tug-of-war battle. That certainly didn't happen. Anyway,  Smiley

CycleJohn,

Was laughing with, not at you.   I agree with who should have been in the game, they simply weren't prepared to deal with such a powerhouse.
Reference your other comment about running up the scores, I don't like to see that done regardless of who the teams are.   Ride safe and I hope you're able to come to our Spring Fling in Hattiesburg.
