Good Morning Campers!
Hope everybody is getting their gear together and getting ready for June. We're planning on rolling the
Big Bus out again this year.
As mentioned on the General Board, the camping options are kind of thin in the Roanoke area. Last time there we stayed at Dixie Caverns and it was OK, the power, water, septic, and other facilities were definitely adequate and caused no problems, but there was nothing spectacular about the camp ground.
So far all the other options I have investigated have at least one true show stopper for us, (Power, Sewer, site length, or no Water at the sites).
I haven't made reservations yet, but probably will as soon as registration is open and I know shat side of town Ground Zero is on.

If anyone finds other options for camping, please post them here.

No matter what happens or where we camp...THIS IS GOING TO BE GREAT!  cooldude

UPDATE:
With the location of Ground Zero (GZ) known, I have seriously started the search for a good camping spot.
So far, as expected, the "pickins is a mite slim" in the Roanoke area.
It's looking like the closest with any real services (water, electric, and sewage) is the Dixie Caverns and Pottery RV Park. We stayed there last time and it was fine but a little far from GZ. This time it will be even further (26 minutes).
I've made no reservations yet and am hoping someone will discover a park I have missed in my investigations.  There are some really nice ones south of town, but they are even further away.

If most of the campers all agree to one place then I'll jump in there too.
Please share your thoughts on any available campgrounds.

It looks like the Dixie Caverns and Pottery RV Park is the spot to stay. I haven't made reservations yet, but will soon.
It was OK last time, but the drive in was further than ideal.
If anyone finds a better place, please advise!
no matter what, it will be a great gathering! Cool
