Big winter storm rolling in today in Oklahoma.  Rain started a half hour ago, that will turn to ice throughout the day.  We are expecting to accumulate a 1/2" or more of ice on everything before the snow starts to fall this evening.  Expecting 6-8 inches of that overnight.....and more like 12" out by our farm.  Oh, and the wind is howling at 30mph out of the north.  Widespread power outages are expected as well.  (ice and wind)

It was friggen 65° yesterday!

I know you folks up north are used to this crap, but we would prefer that you kept it up there!

The 65 mile drive home from work today should be an adventure!

Nope but I could have been. Strange storm this time. It's coming up from Oklahoma to Kansas. No snow forecast for northern Kansas. Maybe 6 to 12 here on the southern side of the state.

No snow here until 6 tonight but just to be safe...I drove the TRUCK. It's 23 right now but it's supposed to drop all day.

Scott,

I feel for ya, as far as the ice, and associated power issues, but like Dave noted, we've got so much up in this neck of 'da woods', we're willing to share Cheesy

Last night, after being almost 40 over the weekend, we and no temperature...  That's right '0', and may be colder tonight.  Right now wind chills are in the -15 range.

After the warm temps this past weekend, the sudden deep freeze made for some cool noises form the woods last evening...  At times, it sounded like a 'skeet' range, with all the booming and popping, from the moisture in the trees freezing.

I am sooo ready for riding weather  Angry

I looked at the radar this morning and Okalhoma is getting POUNDED!  I really hate ice and snow, but I'd take the snow of the frozen north any day over the ice that's happening in Oklahoma City.

Hey Scott, we is just a sharin with ya.       So enjoy it, while ya can....     2funny tickedoff coolsmiley Evil cooldude

We set snow fall records for Dec & Jan this year.   tickedoff

The weather guy/gal, got both, say this is the record breaker and it was set in like 1898..........

We got snow on the ground the 1st of Dec and it has not all melted before a new one comes along.     My snow piles are like 6 to 7' tall and about 12" in the middle of the yard.

So enjoy, we got the ice last week.    Some towns are still without power they say.

You guys can share your snow all you want, I can deal with that.  Its nothing more than an annoyance.

Ice on the otherhand, which is what we're getting...sucks.

Widespread power outages already showing up in SW Ok right now.

Ice is starting to accumulate in OKC now, but its supposed to get much worse.

Our son is in college in Bethany, OK (a suburb of OKC) and he just called me to tell me that not only is school cancelled for the rest of the week, but they are encouraging students to stay off campus due to anticipated power issues.  So, he is staying with one of his professors until Sunday.

Oh, don't misunderstand me here Scott, we have had 3 ice storms between the snow storms.

There are towns still without electric up here......     Last I heard one town they couldn't get to due to big drifts & ice...........    Someone said they were going to bring in the big state truck for this county road.   Oh yeah, we get ice also, and as you say, it sucks big time, especially when ya bust ur melon abd have to get staples put in..    Don't bother asking how I know that one.......   Not sure where the big truck is located, but the town is up in the NW part of the state.

OK guys, I'm with Scott.  We're not used to this ice and crappy weather down here.  We usually have milder weather than this.  All that we usually have to suffer through is rain storms and thunder showers accompanied by 50-70 mph wind with a tornado thrown in now and then just to make us feel at home.  We just don't have the road equipment in this state to handle anything other than the mildest of snow or ice storms.  Looking on the brighter side, all of this mess will be gone in 3-4 days and we will be riding again in a week...JTL   cooldude Cheesy Grin

P.S.- It was 68 here in the SW part of the state yesterday afternoon and I took both my Valks out for
        a spin.
