I would like to remove the left side handlebar controls to get in and clean the contacts for the turn signal switch. I removed the screws from the bottom, but the top and bottom covers did not want to separate. I don’t think I have to remove the grip, so what am I not doing right?  The manual just says to take the the assembly apart. Thanks Honda! Angry
Any advice is appreciated.
Jeff.

Thanks. Much appreciated. That was going to be my next move. My intention was to check wiring and connectors since my Hi-Beam light quit working. Even with a new lamp, the Hi- Beam still does not work.

Remove the two screws.  Depending on what's been done or age they may tend to stick to the bar or one another.  I've sometimes used a knife edge a9not good for the blade) to separate the two parts.

My guess would be that someone got overly ambitious with the grip glue.   Wink

The choke piece can run interference. I've had mine off 3 times for handlebar changes. I agree with the silicone spraying but I definitely have the halves separated to remove the access.

I'd do the right side also while I had every thing out.
