So I spent some of the afternoon in a dentists chair having 2 lower right molars removed.

Abscessed and good riddance.

<Obligatory comment about the cliché of British people's teeth>

Glad you got it taken care of, tooth pain is WAY up there on the pain-o-meter (And that's coming from someone who's had more root canals than I can count. I've probably got enough $$$ in my mouth to buy a brand new Gold Wing outright... )

Tuesday was another great day to ride.

So I spent some of it in bed sleeping, taking antibiotics and pain pills.

The 2 extractions really whipped my ass.

Pussy, you should have been able to take your sweetie out for a night on the town and went on an iron butt ride yesterday morning and been home in time for the State of the Union Address! I’m a pussy too but that’s what our buddy Rams would have done. 2funny

Today the clouds are down on the big bumpy bits across the field from my window where I'm sitting. If they clear I'm going to be zoom, zoom.

The clouds have got denser and lower so no ride today.

Rain forecast tomorrow. Angry

Timber for new footbridge being delivered Friday and that will block the garage for a few days.

All part of life's rich pageant.  Cheesy

I got in almost 4 hours of riding in 60 degrees today, and had a dang blast.

That was Wednesday.  Rode 3 3/4 Thurs, and 5 on Fri.  Nippy, but geared up and great rides.

I've been so worried about various bike issues, I just wouldn't go long or far.  Now both are all fixed up and with new tires.   Confidence is back, and it's like being reborn, and makes me feel alive and kicking (like nothing else).

Really great sunny day to ride here if ya have a snowmobile, insulated suit and heated gear.  Tomorrow looks like another sunny one, with a predicted 16° high and -22° low.  Sans wind chill.

I used to be on call for the Air Force (every month).  It didn't happen often, but I could get a party call with the cops (and maybe the chief cop) and the base commander.  Get the facts, ask questions, make suggestions for further investigation, and make the call if we had probable cause to arrest or search (at which point the commander authorized the arrest or search).  So there was no getting beered up when on call.  Even though the phone didn't ring that often, sobriety was conducive to a continued successful career.   Giving a base (or wing) commander bad advice was not a good idea.

It takes 100 atta boys to make up for one awh sh!t.   (I'm not sure which USAF regulation says this, but it's in there somewhere)   Grin

I'm up early every day because old people apparently don't need as much sleep.

Retired, I would love to sleep 8-10 hours daily, but after nature calls and the eyes are open, just laying there gets old quickly.

Nice lyrics.  cooldude

Up at 0 dark thirty because I now have a steenkin cold - great week so far  Cheesy

Asked chatgpt to write me a new song in the style of Skynyrd

I like it.

Verse 1:
Driving down the dusty road, I'm feeling free
With my guitar and my truck, my soul's at peace
I've seen this country, I've seen it all
From the mountains to the coast, I've had a ball

Chorus:
I'm a simple man, with a simple plan
Just living life, like a Leonard Skynyrd fan
I've got my music, I've got my friends
And that's all I need, till the very end

Verse 2:
I've got my roots in the South, it's where I belong
With my steel strings and my southern drawl, I'll keep singing on
I've had my ups, I've had my downs, but I've always been true
To the music and the way of life, that I was raised to do

Chorus:
I'm a simple man, with a simple plan
Just living life, like a Leonard Skynyrd fan
I've got my music, I've got my friends
And that's all I need, till the very end

Bridge:
I'll keep playing my guitar, till I take my last breath
And I'll keep singing these songs, of life and love and death
So when I'm gone, and you hear that guitar
Remember the simple man, who played it like a star

Chorus:
I'm a simple man, with a simple plan
Just living life, like a Leonard Skynyrd fan
I've got my music, I've got my friends
And that's all I need, till the very end

Outro:
So turn it up, and sing it loud
With all your heart, and all your soul
For the music of the South, will never grow old
And I'll always be, a simple man, a Leonard Skynyrd fan.

Pretty impressive.   Soon chatgpt will be winning Grammys for best songwriting.

Another clear blue sky day with a high of 57.

Lumber delivery around 1 p.m. which will block the garage door for a few days. Sheesh.

And wood delivered and garage blocked. 6x6 x 30feet.

Delivery was over an hour late so I spent the time checking tire pressures and doing some polishing with the faint hope of doing some riding one day soon.

350lbs each and I was able to help move them into place by lifting an end and moving it to the side. Phew!

Yes. It would've been good for a few more years but one end is getting a bit loose. The new one will remove a few steps and land nearer the house.

The people who do most bike inspections by far (gas stations) know absolutely nothing about motorcycles.

Lights high/low, signals fore and aft, brake lights, horn... OK you pass.   Pay the man, get the sticker.

But that's just the way I like it.  (Except I'd like it better with no inspections required.)

I didn't even get a sticker. Just a receipt and a computer entry.

I still have to take my car once I get the paperwork. They couldn't send them together. Typical Govt inefficency.

Nowhere to put it once across the bridge and there's going to be 3 steps at the far end.

That's crazy 30 foot long six by sixes... And a nice
poured concrete foundation on dry land on each side.

Is is OK to ask how much a 30 foot long six by six
cost? Is that a special order no matter where you go,
or is that a kind of thing they stock locally if you go to
the right place?

We got a complete price for the job from 4 different builders.

Each supplied a material list and site drawings.

Easy peasy.
