my front brakes were sticking so I decided to take the calipers apart, install new seals and clean everything up.  It's all back together and bled well enough to stop so I can ride to a friends house for help later.  I was taking the bike for a short ride to check my stopping power and noticed the turn signal indicator wasn't flashing when I applied the turn signal.  When I got back to the house I found I had no running lights on the front, the brake light appears to be on all the time and there are no turn signals.  The headlight appears to work correctly high and low beam.

I moved the master cylinder forward some while I was bleeding so it would be level.  So as far as I can figure the only switch I might have messed with was the front brake switch.  I didn't disconnect the switch while I was bleeding the brakes and thinking I might have spilled some brake fluid. I had a towel wrapped around the master cylinder but a little bit did spill and I wiped it up as soon as it happened.  I took the wires off the front brake switch and cleaned the terminals although they didn't look dirty.

All the lights were working fine when I parked the bike a few weeks ago.

Any ideas as to what I screwed up and why I have no turn signals and the brake lights appear to stay on?  I only worked on the front brake calipers and only moved the master cylinder about an inch forward.  I'm at a loss where to start checking since I see no connection between turn signals and brake lights.

Thanks

Nevermind Smiley  It was a fuse.  I read somewhere the horn was on the same circuit, no horn, checked the fuse and it was blown.  I don't know how since the last thing I did when I parked the bike was check the lights.  I always check them because I can see the rear lights reflected in the garage door without having to get off the bike.  Maybe something with the front brake light switch blew the fuse, I'll never know.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled forum
