My brother and I went to see Star Trek II tonight at the historic Embassy Theater (I had posted a while ago about how we had tickets).  It was a special event with William Shatner talking afterwards on stage.  Funny part during the movie:  Right when the Enterprise just tears the USS Reliant apart and all of Kahn's followers are dead on the bridge of Reliant, Kahn is pulling himself up into view behind the control panel of his ship and a voice in the theater says, "Rich Corinthian leather!".  Holy crap, that dude was a legend, entire theater just burst out laughing and clapping.  What a fun time!
William Shatner talking afterwards was so cool.  I have no idea where people get the idea that he has a huge ego, he seemed pretty down to earth to me.

Ahhhh Star Trek - used to have to go to the "TV Room" at Clemson to watch it.  Also tried to set up a special TV antenna when I was living with my parents in Richmond Hill, GA to get the station (NBC if I remember correctly) which was some distance aways (Charleston, hard to remember).

I have been to all the movies.

Was a big Science Fiction Fan.   Books I read back then and, in recent years, Audio Books on the road.

Shatner seems pretty laid back to me, and not too hung up on his celebrity image.  Amazing he's still out on the scifi circuit at over 90 years old.  More power to him!

Doing all that, even going to space at 90! I hope I'm still converting O2 to CO2 at 90, much less all the things he's doing!

The show he did with Henry Winkler, George Foreman,Terry Bradshaw and a "young flunkey" was interesting to see also.

I love Captain Kirk the character, but William Shatner the actor not so much. I just read his book "Boldly Go" and he comes across as soft and whiny. For example, he bought into the whole fake pandemic. He's also a climate alarmist.

He touched on the whole global warming thing after his journey to space.  He softened it a bit, but everything else was non-partisan.

I enjoyed most of his Denny Crane roles. Especially with the Mad Cow Disease cropping up intermittently.

And of course his consideration for a Presidential candidate.

I ran into him at the service dept. at the local Harley dealer, I had ridden over with a buddy of mine who had bought a new HD a while back. I was on my '98 Tourer , I parked right next to him and didn't recognize him. The service manager said did you see William Shatner out there, He was bungee cording a set of HD  floor mats onto his new just bought Road Glide . He was a much smaller guy than I expected around 5'7 "and  150lbs.  I would guess. He fired up his bike and he rode away with too much throttle and sliding the clutch big time. You could tell it had been awhile since he had been on a bike. I pulled out a half a minute later and he was still at the traffic light,  as I rolled up I said , " that looks like a brand new bike" and he turned and said to me with that booming voice as he held up one finger " it has 1 mile on it  " , I said " I believe it ".  I noticed he was on tip toes to reach the ground and  wearing a ball cap . We rode down the road a few miles then went our separate ways.   Road Dog .

I enjoyed him on "Boston Legal" more than Star Trek and I loved that, but his role on Boston Legal was classic.

When I lived in KY, my daughter rode Saddlebred horses, William Shatner was also into Saddlebreds.
He often would show up at the bigger events and compete.   Saw him several times but, he never offered to invite me over for a cookout.  Wink

Was hoping to get "Beamed Up" but, never happened.   2funny
