Use of that term for that bike is sacrilege.... but par for Honda.

Personally, I think a better name for that bike would be "another weenie V-twin with floppy bags and shield," but it would be hard to get it all on a tank badge.

Yes Jess....the "sacrilege" attribute pretty much nails it!

If they sell many of those things, some one had better come up with an aftermarket exhaust quickly. Holy cow!

At most, it is a Tourer.  Honda is really reaching to call that little bike an Interstate.

I think those rims are cheesy... and why would they go away from the Inverted Fork setup in front?? the 1300 certainly isn't the fastest thing out there, so why not make it handle better? There's no reason to buy a product if you can't justify it being better is some way than the competition. Maybe I'm wrong...

The bike is basically a Fury with saddlebags.  Under powered, poor 2-up comfort, designed for day rides.  I agree, Honda has lost the incentive to produce a real interstate.  I called them about two months ago and they said the people who want the real Interstate are buying the Goldwing.  Sad, but true state of today's Honda.

I wish there was a kit out there to strip a GW1800 down to something Valk-like...

Recently I told someone of an idea where Honda could build a "Sport Wing". They could retain everything mechanical but change most of the plastic. In my mind it would have no trunk, removeable bags, and a smaller fairing with fewer features. I think the reduced features and weight would be a bike that appeals to lots of folks who don't want a touring Wing, but want a great weekender bike. The engineering and design would be cheap.
