Christ first and always

Richmond, Kentucky

« on: February 14, 2023, 12:30:03 PM »

I couldn’t resist the 62+ degree February weather. I found some more new roads to ride within 10 miles of my house. I got in 80 miles over a couple of hours as I rarely got over 35 mph. That means many you would have been happily scooting along at 50-55, I imagine. Once again I was traveling along and near the Kentucky river on roads that have been there since at least horse and buggy days with the only improvements being pavement in various states of repair. The big plus was virtually no traffic in either direction. The decreasing radius off camber turns were numerous and my sphincter got a thorough workout, mostly due to my limited abilities and preferring not to drop the Wing as I haven’t been successful in standing it back up on my own, especially on uneven ground, and I don’t think there is a level spot in that part of the county.

I’m seriously impressed by the roads I have to ride on since moving to Richmond, so for me it will be practice, practice, practice. Not to sound like a broken record, but the new gearing is spot on in every situation so far.
