Ok I cannot find my Haynes book.
The 6 vaccuum hoses on the carburator bowls, I had 4 of 6 of them cracked.  I replaced them all.
Since I cannot find my book this is the best place for information.
Is this going to give me better mileage?  better running bike? more power? etc.
Thanks in advance for your input.

The hoses connected to the carb bowls are drain hoses. The vacume hoses connect to the  chrome
intake tubes.

These 6 head into a 6 in one manifold under the tank.  The hose goes up and goes under the bike.  Mine is not chrome.

Thanks for the help.

Like John U stated, those hoses are drain tubes.
I replaced mine a few weeks ago.
If you havent performed a desmog, you may be thinking about the vac tubes on intake 3 and 4 and the petcock hose on intake #6
