I’m interested to see how many older Valk riders are active.   There is an end to the fun somewhere but where s that?

If I wanted to know that kind of information, I'd set up a poll listing intervals of 5 years maybe.

This might be it...

A poll of riders ages would be interesting. Seems a trike and/or a convertible is a popular way to stay in the wind after two wheels become impractical or unsafe.

I'll be 70 in 20 days or so.  Been riding 2 wheels 53 years.  IMHO, I've lost nothing of my riding skills.  Each time I take off for a ride (yesterday), I go out in my suburban intersection and do very tight circles and 8's before departing.

I am just a bit more careful when cranking and banking (esp in traffic).  This is more a matter of good judgment than loss of skills.

And I have to P more often, and can't go (for long) in high heat anymore.

Walking 2 miles briskly every day helps with the body and the mind.  Complaints from the knees, ankles and feet have mostly disappeared.

I took a rather pragmatic approach to the trike decision. First...I had no issues riding the two wheeler that was the November pinup a couple years ago. I simply felt as I was approaching my mid-eightys, three wheels might be a bit more safe, so I figured if I found a trike that was decently priced and I didn't have to travel to Timbuktu to get it...I'd spring for it. My son-in-law turned me on to one just 25 miles south of my home and was listed in Craigslist for quite a bit more than I eventually paid. It was one sick puppy when I first got it but one winter and spring working on it turned it into a trouble free ride. At this stage of my life, soon to be 85, I'll probably not go back to riding two wheels. There's always the possibility if I find one needing restoration.

Good to hear I have some company. I got the Valk back on the road after a three year layoff.  I’ve ridden since 1968 but the bike felt heavy. Time to put in some miles and get it back. I forgot just how hard the old gal can pull.   Smiley

No idea where you call home but, ya might as well put some miles (and smiles) on riding to Spring Fling.

Yes, that's a personal invitation.  Wink

Young or old, practice is important for good, safe and enjoyable riding.

My bikes weren't down but both were ailing and I was afraid to go very far or long for 2 years.  Now refreshed and fixed, I'm riding all the time I can (in winter) and loving it again.
