All these Harley-Davidson motorcycles were once used by the police of Puente Piedra, a district in Lima, Peru. However, there was a big problem with their maintenance. Since the maintenance of the bikes was proving to be costly, the police had no other option than to stop using them.

Harley lovers bought some of the bikes because they couldn't obtain parts of bikes in any other way. Although the police bikes were sold in an auction for just $1,300, people bought them and even sold them for as high as $12,000.

I listened to the local Indian GM talking to friends tonight about a HD dealer group who marked up a "rare" new CVO something HD with a "market fluctuation price" from 45K to 60K. AND they sold their 3 bike allocation at that crazy price.

I've said if I ever buy a pickumup truck that costs that much I'll have to live in it.  I guess if I bought one of those newfangled Hardleys I'd have to live on it.

That would suck.
