Hey guys, dumb question for you.  Can anyone tell me what my bike is missing here?  To me it looks like something is missing as this is a pretty open area on an otherwise chrome laden bike.  I know I have a Pingel petcock so I'm missing the dial thingy but other than that, what am I missing that should've come stock?

Thanks

*Edit.  Never can figure out how to post images here so here's a link to the pic on my google drive.

The fuel selector knob is missing, as you already know. The alternator cover is missing. (Thankfully they didn’t lose the alternator cover mount)
Valve cover end cap
The cam end covers appear stock to me.
The chrome plate the petcock fits into.
The chrome plate (chrome engine hanger) is aftermarket.

With an alternator that clean you do not need to cover it.

Alternator cover. Available here cheap: https://www.megazip.net/zapchasti-dlya-motocyklov/honda

It appears that your bike might have a manual Pingle shut off to avoid hydrolock a issue that comes when factory shutoff fails. All the way forward off, all the way back on, and in the middle, reserve. Of course this is with you in the saddle.

Thank you for the kind words.

So at some point, the previous owner took off the alternator cover and left the mount.  Is the mount that chrome ring attached to the alternator with the chrome bolt heads sticking out?

If I can do this................

https://postimages.org/

Create an account using the SIGN UP box top right.

Create a new gallery by clicking on the box towards the top left

Upload photos. Do a max of up to 15 at a time or it can take too long.

Once uploaded put your cursor on the image you want to put on the VRCC forum

Now move your cursor to the symbol to left of the trash bin symbol
Click on it
Now copy the "Hotlink" for forums.

Now go to the VRCC post you want the photo to appear in and right click and paste.

Once you then post your comment the photo should appear for all to see.

Yes, there are a couple rubber things you’ll need along with the chrome bolt and washer.

Cheap?

$273 for a piece of plastic that, as we all know, the majority of which, seem to melt.

NO, it is $47.00 plus shipping from Japan. Last one I ordered was about $7 or $8 shipping, and two weeks transit time.

I lined mine with reflective firewall insulation as a possible heat protection alternative.
