Other than the political unrest they seem to attract, trapping and relocating native animals is unlawful in many states without a permit. I find that when I do live trap them (I have a trapping permit issued by my state) they seem to develop lead poisoning after they leave my property. I have several neighbors that seem to think wild animals need to be fed which means I have continual issues with varmint overpopulation.
Feral animals do not require a permit in this state and have no protections by the DNR under state statutes.

I studied up on all those rules in my state/county. Then I just did what I wanted to... so no one sees or knows. Still do. Carefully. We don't need no stinking badges at my house.

Wish I could count the stray cats on my street as feral varmits!! There's a lady that fees them all and claims that none of them are hers, she just feeds 'em.
I can't do anything about them, but one DID commit suicide by jumping off the top of a fence into the dogs I was walking down an alley. 3 full grown Cane Corso Mastiffs. Cat scared the hell out of the dog he landed on, but did not last long after that!
I think that's the cat equivalent of a bad guy going out by pulling a fake gun on some cops!

If I'm not mistaken, in Florida, you feed them, you own them.

Years ago, I had a neighbor 5 houses down that fed a dozen stray cats, and claimed they were his. They wandered all over the place.
I saw the for sale sign in front of his house, and when I saw him, I pointedly asked if he was taking them all with him. He swore he would, but didn't take any of them. Alpha Hotel

My dad always said never feed a stray dog. Because if you do. It won't be a stray dog anymore.

There are some things that I might be found guilty of should I be caught. I won't deny it if that happens but, one way or another, that Coon is leaving. Correct Political Speaking be cursed. It that offends anyone, take it to the complaint department. Rams

Living in a rural area, I have many options in firearm, cages, and a 25lb. rat terrier mix that keeps the property free of most vermin. Recently I dispersed of a rabbit with my single pump 1100 fps. .177 pellet rifle. 10 seconds of flopping around and done. Our resident Red Tail hawk had a good breakfast the next morning. Love that ultra quiet weapon w/o excessive noise.

Coyote is a natural predator to coons. Coyote urine can be bought. Non sudsing ammonia will work and is easier to get. Spray at entrance or were unwelcome guests are seen.

I don’t want to be the guy that has to insert the catheter into the coyote to get the urine!

I live trap many of them [ well, used to] and let them go elsewhere. But, there are some critters that do end up with serious cases of lead poisoning.

Got a friend with a garbage service. He has some big dumpsters on his place kind of out in the country. Feral cats congregate there. About ten yrs ago he shotgunned several of the feral cats. Someone saw him do it and called the cops. Had to hire lawyers to stay out of jail and ended up with some community service and a $10,000 fine

$10k for feral cats! that seems excessive to say the least. First remember the 11th commandment.... Thou shall not get caught!

I would hope that judge also included a court order that the local animal control makes frequent visits to capture those feral cats. Rams
