  Shocked

https://www.foxla.com/news/watch-tire-pops-off-truck-causes-car-to-flip-on-chatsworth-freeway

Looks like that rolling tire made a perfect ramp!  And that tire comes back around to give that Kia another kick in the ass!  Amazingly, no major injuries reported.  I'm sure the ambulance chasers are chomping at the bit regardless.

Check yer lug nuts, folks!

Yah, been seeing that make the rounds, wild bit of video...

Two tidbits I found fascinating:

-No major injuries (Woah, and thankfully!)
-The dashcam is from a Tesla. The swerving to avoid impact was done by the car, not the driver, it was on autopilot mode.

And insult to injury the truck tire boots the KIA in the butt!  Lips Sealed Had the driver of the KIA not been buckled up could have been lots worse!  Cry DANG! RIDE SAFE.

I’m always suspicious of those pickups with the large offset wheels. Whether it’s wheel spacers or just offset rims, that’s a lot of stress on the hubs.

Interesting that the driver of the Kia didn't hit the brakes until it was airborne.

They never saw it coming!

glad I own 3 Hyundai's, not Kia's.... LOL   Grin

almost does not seem real/possible.

similar instance, although not a tire but square railroad ties, came flying off a semi and was just darn lucky on interstate I was quick reaction enough to swerve to the shoulder doing 75 mph to avoid hitting them landing in my lane.  The 3-4 came off about 4 ft long on a flat bed semi and it woulda took out my undercarriage for sure on my hyundai sonata.    who knows, if caught an edge which am sure it woulda,  the would chunks coulda flipped the car as well or gone thru the floorboards into the cabin area.  I sped up and beeped at the semi driver to pull over as well as calling 911 to get the interstate timber off ASAP.

My son has a 2019 Hyundai Elantra.

He's taking it in today for the ignition switch recall.

It can't be much of a fix since it's estimated to only be a 15 minute repair.

He told them that his car already had an Anti-theft device, they told him that it didn't.

He said it's called a manual transmission.

They agreed that he had an anti-theft device, but are installing the new part anyway.  Evil

well am glad this does not apply to my two 2014 hyundai's since is 2015 kia/hyundai's on up with turn key ignition.  Where I live is not an issue, but heard Milwaukee WI is a stolen mecca of Kia/Hyundai's.  Yet another reason to avoid bigger crime ridden cities like Milwaukee.
