I know the process involves the right side forward fender bolt, and understand how it actually pulls the fender to the right. My tire seems to rub on the rear fender bolt so I'm just curious as to how much it will change that clearance. Or, is it possible to do the same procedure in back. Doesn't look like it would have the same effect since the rear bolt doesn't thread into the fender like the front one does. I'm wondering if anyone has installed a spacer on the left rear to push the fender more to the right. Install it between the frame and fender on the left rear only, used in conjunction with the washer mod on the right front fender bolt it seems to me the entire fender would move to the right then. Am I missing something here, or just barking at shadows. Any thoughts on it, or has anyone done that extra step?

Good explanations when you click on the pictures are very good.  It levers the fender out on the rear.

I think you are right, if you did both, the whole fender woul probably move to the right.  We had a situation where we smelled rubber once, my fault though.  I loaded the bike too heavily and forgot to add air to the 416 air shocks.  This was before the car tire.

I don't need much movement, it's barely rubbing but it does leave a slight shiney ring and a little rubber smell. Didn't do it with the 12.5" shocks, but soon as I installed the 11.5" I got it. And, I have them set a bit too hard for my old bones so I figure if I soften the setting at all it will rub more. I'll have to experiment a bit, maybe tomorrow since we have rain forecast in the afternoon. I'll let you know if it works....might even remember take some pictures if the dementia hasn't kicked in.  Wink

Just for funsies I might take the entire saddlebag setup, rails and all, off for a few days until I get this issue taken care of. Might be kinda fun, take out the silencers and go down the street and bug my two Harely neighbors. Cheesy  At least until Rita fusses at me about all the noise.
