Me and a buddy rode over to the Fredericksburg Fandango at Gillespi County fairgrounds.   Good show.   Lots of old parts fie sale and lots of antique motorcycles to look at.   Then the had some flat track races and they had "Old school chopper drag races" on a loose sandy track....ha.   Several wiped out on take off due to the loose sand.   We had a good time.   Big turnout.  Saw several parked Valkyries in the parking area.   Will probly try to go next year

If you saw this Valkyrie, it was me...

The Bike Show was awesome.  How about these two 1979 CBX1000's...

Choppers everywhere!

The swap meet was overwhelming...

The races were fun to watch.  Wish they had a track for the speedway racers.  Those bikes are nuts!

Definitely going back next year!

Dont think I saw your bike.  Would have liked to meet ya

Spent the night in Kerville last night.  Did the 3 twisted sisters today.  Left Kerrville this morning early and went to Bandera and got on 470 to Utopia to eat at the Lost Maples Cafe.   Pulled into the gravel parking out front and coming to a stop on uneven ground I went over onto the crash bars....ha.   First time in probly 10 yrs or so my Valkyrie has been on the ground.  Was leaning downhill and it took 3 of us to stand her back up.

Yea, I was there too!
Camped from Friday to Sunday. (I hadn't camped in 30yrs.)

Crowded, noisy till way in the EARLY morning, dusty with all the traffic on the "camp roads."
It seemed like EVERY Harley rider HAD to show the other Harley riders how much LOUDER his pipes were all hours of the night!!

With all that said, it was a great event!! (just not my camping style.  We will be getting a room next time)

And yeah, the Chopper drags were fantastic!! Not only did some wipe out at the start, but a couple also wiped out on the turn-around at the end!!
Unfortunately, the flat-track dirt races had a major wipe out to where they needed to pack one guy out in an ambulance!!
He was run over, wasn't moving after the collision! Talked to an EMS guy after and he said they took him to the hospital for observation. He was good (alive and not paralized) but he did have a cracked helmet and didn't remember anything!

I would've like to have met y'all too and would've given my phone # before-hand to stop by for a beer, or two, but had a pretty tough previous week and didn't know if I was going for sure till Friday!!

Hey DIGGER, how was the "Twisted Sisters"? Are the roads good?  Seems like someone here said some parts were under construction a couple months ago.
We're planning to do them the last week of April!!

The twisted sisters are always good.   There was some construction areas but it was Sunday and the roads were open.  Somewhere thru there they are repairing a low water crossing.  Slow wayyyyy down when you see it coming up as they either are not thru or something has been done wrong as doing the speed limit my bike bottomed out so hard the handlebars pushed down....they slipped in the handlebar holders.  Jared my teeth.    My riding buddy on a Harley said it bottomed out also like hitting a big speedbump at highway speeds.   Sure hope they are going to make it smoother.

Have fun...its beautiful out there.   I put a new rock with my name on it in the rock pile there at the corner of 41 and 335.  Says
"Terry Bice Tomball Tx".   Let me know iffin ya see it....ha

I plan to visit the "Sisters" in June.  We'll be staying right on the Rio Frio across from Garner at the swimming hole (near where the dam is).

When I was last out there in 2021, the roads were in really sad shape -- pot holes and loose gravel in abundance.  On most of the switchback turns I was riding on slick tar or slick gravel...not fun.  There was a bridge out on 337 between Vanderpool and Leakey -- had to turn around, plus there was construction on 335 just north of Vance -- single lane with oil covered gravel that flew up into the fenders and made a wonderful mess of things.  All in all it made riding the roads kinda tough and knocked the wow of it.

...this year has got to be better!

Roads were in pretty good shape.   Dont remember having to dodge anything.......just that one road construction low water pavement rebuild.   I love it out there.   In my younger days I used to blast down thru there in the race mode....now I take it nice and easy and look at the scenery.   If other motorcycles come flying up behind me I find a place they can get around me and I wave them to come on.....they came there to play and I dont want to hinder their adrenalin rush.  You guys and gals have a good time
And be safe.
