What size are the vacuum cap plugs we use for desmogged bikes?

Think I found it and answered my own question, 3/16".  Sounds right, let me know if not.  Thanks.

I am not sure on size, but I will tell you the El Cheapo auto parts multi packs of vacuum caps just blew off or blew in two on my Valkyrie intake nipples.  They could not take the high pressures and/or the heat, and self destructed in sort order.

This led to tremendous backfires (backing off on the throttle on the freeway), and had cars thinking they were being fired upon.  (On the way home I-95 last Roanoke Inzane)

These heavy duty Honda ones work (and don't blow off or in two).

No clamps needed?  How long do they hold up?  I'm just looking for either a  long lasting set that can handle the gas and heat (viton, maybe?) or just get a bunch of 'em bulk.  The flexible rubber ones sure get hard as a rock after a season.

I like the oem caps too. They last a good long time. You're
supposed to use a tube clip (one of those circles of wire)
with them.  They're on the cylinder head fiche page.

Thanks, I'll give them a try.

I found some that look like the BonS ones I'd been using, without the clamps.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/110976169922?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=iVeTC0yARpe&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=EkcgiTXYSz6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I was thinking I'd just reuse Bon's spring clamps and buy a bunch in bulk cheap, but changing them out seasonally gets old.  These are more spendy, but if they last longer they'll be worth it.  The cheapies could be good to pack in a saddlebag just in case, tho.

On my former Valk, I took one of the nipples out and matched it up with a metric bolt and crush washer. No caps to blowoff. I then carried the nipples in a small ziplock under the seat.

This sounds interesting as well.  I'm thinking the nipples would only be needed for the occasional rare carb synch?

Earlier Goldwings had bolts (21).

Below, screenshots from ebay. Dunno know why I was on a Goldwing page but noticed the bolts right away.
