Just saw this ad in CL: https://modesto.craigslist.org/mcy/d/oakdale-1998-honda-valkyrie-touring/7623301133.html

And got curious if the price makes sense at all?

Just asking for a friend....

Specs: 1998 valkyrie, 28K miles.

Dunno what was the trike kit used for the bike.

Depending on the age of the Roadsmith kit, it might have a solid axle. If it's an IRS suspension, it's pretty close. A new Champion IRS trike kit is $18K.

Good looking trike but I'm with Sandy on the axle setup. If solid, it won't ride or handle as good. If it's I/S suspension then the price isn't too far off.

I'll agree with an Independent Rear Suspension providing a smoother ride.   Handling, IMHO that depends on the rider, the experience and the expectations.   Many folks make such decisions based on what they have been told. Ride both and make your own decision.  Trikes with IRS are always priced higher, might be worth the additional cost, might not be.

Edited: I believe that most trikes with IRS have disk brakes, versus drum brakes.   To me, that's something to consider if one is purchasing a trike.   I'm not a fan of drum brakes on anything.
