so thank you da prez

I went and watched a series of youtube vids about how to trace and sat down with the meter

battery fine, hooked up the clips to the leads and set to ohms

a  high number popped up

so pulling fuses one at a time  man I have a lot of em the main ones under the right cover and the five in my aux fuse box and the others

nothing

so did it again this time gently pulling wire leads to the fuse as I did that in case it was hiding

wow I got a hit on this one  as I move the red wire the meter goes nuts

Anyone know what the relay is for and if I should try to open the tape around the wires that lead there

Hey Evan,

Neither the fuse box or relay look OEM to me.  What are there powering?

I would cut the tape and take a look. These situations are where I like to have an analog meter. A relatively cheep one is fine. With a analog you can watch the needle move instead of numbers going crazy. I'm not sure how you are testing but sounds like a broken/ partially broken wire or bad crimp at the connection.

Which model Valkyrie?

CB Radio or driving lights installed?

Possibly an isolation relay for 12V feed to an accessory. I'd look to see what's going on with the coil connection - how is it switched, and where is primary power obtained?
