There's a particular brand that I have seen and even wrote it down, but it has disappeared. It's all aluminum, has a pull out ramp that slides underneath the bed, and has torsion axle suspension which I prefer. I've been online for so long my eyes are burning so going to stop for now but the reason I'm looking again is due to an offer from my son-in-law. He has an old Pontiac Montana van he uses to haul stuff that won't fit in their SUV. The old van has a enough miles to go to the moon and back and needs to be gone, but he needs something to haul stuff with at times. So...he suggested we go halves on a trailer. It would be one I could use to haul the trike, he would store it at his business and lock it up...ready for my use at any time and for him when needed. I've made a couple suggestions but the one described above is my desired type but can't recall the brand. If anyone has an idea let me know, might be able to get it done in time for InZane.  cooldude

I don't know if this is the one you had in mind, John, but the Aluma TK1 has the pull-out ramp.

That would be nice, probably a bit more $$ than we want to put out. I'll call the dealer in the morning for a quote just in case.

This place is in southern NH, and builds their own trailers. Their trailers have ramp options, one of which is a pull-out style. Ask your local trailer place for options. There are probably a lot more than either of us will find with an internet search.   https://ruggedat.com/

triton ATV88 trailer?   I have one and is very versatile for 2 big ATV's loaded sideways.  I maxed it out regularly when I had two 2-up Can Am ATV's each weighing about 800lbs. each.

I would not load a cycle 2 wheels on it, but a trike cycle would work as long as 4 ft wide or less since that is the width of the pull out ramp under the wooden deck.

Well I might bring the trike after all. My son-in-law is going halves with me on a Primo 6x10 aluminum with a bi-folding 4' ramp and torsion suspension. Should cost us a bit under $1700 ea., hoping to have it ready to leave Friday morning. Nancy asked if I was going to enter the bike show, I told her it depends on how good a polish job she does on it. Got real quiet in the room for some reason.  Grin

Not in this case, she then told me she'd help clean and polish if needed. Then added "only if I'm not socializing"...meaning her! Guess that means not much help will be given...I swear she'd talk to a tree if she thought the birds in it would sing for her. Doesn't know a stranger, I love it.  Wink

Well, a bit of a setback. Got the new trailer, tows great with my SUV which I used to go get it. Lights and everything worked fine...on my hookup. Nancy's Audi...not so much. Has a good ground but no power to any of the other pins so now it's off the Youtube to see what I can learn. The Audi has a dumb method for the trailer light hookup, you'd think for a car of that caliber it would have something unique.  Angry

good luck, no idea why another vehicle whether Audi, BMW, Mercedes, etc. (none of which I have ever been in) would be any different if just a basic 4 flat or 7 round pin connector system.   Maybe call an Audi dealer and find out what is unique of that mfg. for trailering light hookups?   Are you sure the Audi wiring works at all?  Could just be the wiring in the Audi is not working...

I'm not an electrical type but I've heard bikes with a can bus system (what ever that is) need special methods. Probably same for cars. Does the Audi use a can bus system?

Well, turned out to be a simple fix...I was the simple one. I finally went looking for a Youtube video and found one on the exact model like Nancy's...2016 Audi Q5. The guy made of video on how to install the system so followed it closely when I went back to double check the installation on her car and it matched. I was getting power and had a good ground so why weren't the turns, brake lights, and running lights working. I then went back to the video to watch again and there was one part I had overlooked. Seems Audi has an odd taillight/turn signal system that kills power to them when the hatch is open. I commandeered Nancy for front seat operations, closed the hatch, and commenced to test. All works fine. What a PITA that turned out to be, if only the owners manual would have made it known it would have saved me a lot of time since I was testing everything with the hatch open.  tickedoff

That doesn't even make sense, in any way that I can think of. What point would that be? Disabling the trailer lights if by some odd chance, you had to have a large item in the back of the vehicle? Seems pointless, at best, and unsafe, at worst. Glad you figured it out though, John. I really long for simpler times, when people didn't seem to have to justify their jobs by designing systems that have no purpose but to be different than the norm.

I had thought the same thing until I lived in New Zealand recently. Almost all vehicles that people own there are sedans & SUV’s. Only the trades own pickups (or utes as they call them). I was surprised to see many makes of cars including Maseratis, Porsches and Audi having hitches towing small utility trailers. Most gas stations rent these small trailers for occasionally use.

always something isn't it?  glad u figured out the odd Audi quirk.  Seems to most times be something so simple yet we overlook them and think something more complicated.  My kids 2014 santa fe has NO headlights, but all the other lights work like brake lights/fog lamps, turn signals.  If not the fuses and relay or headlights, I am lost for sure.  I guess a mouse could chew on a wire????   After fuses, relay, and headlight check, I guess gotta spend some money to take it in somewhere to someone who 'might' (key word there) know about wiring/electricity..   Am hoping once up there this weekend that another similar relay in the fuse box in engine compartment is the same size/etc. and try/swap that out to see if headlights come on if not the fuse first.   I highly doubt both headlights went bad at the same time, but anything is possible.
