I'm not talking about file conversion. It will covert all type of info such as km to miles, weights, metric measurements to our U.S. system. My computer recently lost a funtioning harddrive and in the process I lost a lot of information and pictures, some of my two daughters that passed. I do have an external HD that was set to automatically back up at a certain time but it got a little testy in recent months so no sure what's on it. The new unit seems hesitant to access it so still working on that.

FWIW, I got the conversion/equivalency program from someone on here many years ago so maybe they'll speak up.

John, I have an app on my phone called unit converter.  It works well and I use it all the time.

Not sure how the data was backed up to the drive but a lot of backup software compresses and encrypts the data so you might need the backup software to uncompressed and restore the files.  If it was just copied to the external hard drive then you shouldn't have any problem accessing it.

Not software to install but https://www.rapidtables.com/ which I've used for years for a variety of purposes have calculators and conversions for pretty much anything.

Thanks, it does appear to have most of what the other system contained that I had in the past so I bookmarked it. cooldude

Here is the software I use - I think it is fairly old, but it is small, and works instantly:

http://www.joshmadison.com/software

It is is called "Convert", version 4.10

It converts variables for pressure, speed, temperature, time, torque, volume, volume-dry, acceleration, amount of substance, angle, area, computer, concentration, custom, density, distance, energy, flow, force, light, mass, and power (just reading the tabs - I haven't investigated all of them).

Hope this helps.

I'd love to include a screenshot, but can't.

This one here will do everything you need and then some.  Been using it for years and don't worry about paying for it as the trial version works fine. I just pauses a sec.

I've had this on every desktop/laptop I've used for something like 20 years.
