Trafffic is getting a bit worse up here in Lake county. Orlando is moving North and folks from North of us are moving South. For those in the city the traffic here would be nothing but for Lesa and I? We love country life. Love the house here and we have lake rights as well,but.......
Lesa and I have been looking for a house up on the Suwanee River for several years. Could not find one we liked at all.
Well......
We found a house on the West side of Lake Talquin, West of Talahassee. It is a 10,800 acre lake of which most of the land around the lake is owned by Div. of Forestry. That means that the houses that are there will be it....very few more buildable lots on the lake as well.
We signed final papers on it today.

WOW...two things happened with this post. Pappy & Lesa are moving north, and Billy Boy came out of the woodwork. For me it's been too long since I've crossed paths with those folks...or any of the Florida bunch.
We'd like to rekindle those friendships and spend some time in Fla. during the lovely winter months in Wisconsin but need to find a place within reasonable financial reach. Might even look at the possibility of renting a mobile home, we're not looking for a Tah Mahal...just something comfy.

Is Lesa coming with you, or is she glad to get you out of the house for a week?  Might be able to make it up midweek, probably no motel vacancies since this is a national shindig. EDIT: just had a thought(dangerous)...we're planning on attending the Quad State meet in Holmen, WI (near LaCrosse) on the 4th-5th next week. IF...we could find a place to stay Thursday night in Tomahawk or nearby, we could drive up Thursday and hook up with you, then leave from there Friday for the Quad State thingy. |

I am back as of yesterday afternoon from Tomahawk. Will be heading up to the property tomorrow and back home again. Supposed to have a pole barn going up tomorrow for parking. We shall see. Also coming back tomorrow. 4.5 hours each way.......no rest for the wicked.

Couple of pics of the house. The day after papers were signed we had a 24x36' pole barn/carport put up. It was finished by 4pm the same day! Here is a pic of one of the sunsets from the house. I had gone up there to cut grass and check the flooring installation.  The house    and the new carport   |

We have lake rights where we are right now and was born and raised in the Keys then moved to the Bahamas so have been a water baby alll my life. Felt good to get out on the dock and watch the sun go down again. Come on up and enjoy it sometime!

I went by Casey's Place  while in Tallahassee this week. I like the sound of that, I bet Lesa friends say Lesa's Place  I Loved it. What a great set up for some really quality time and change of pace that we all want. Great home spot on Lake Talquin seeing a wide section of the lake. I told Casey I'm seeing a Valkyrie Rally visit / cook out. He's got the room.
