How many of you have gone to see the Barbie movie??? My granddaughter is 3 and got two Barbies for her birthday which she summarily ripped the arms off each. She is not into movies yet thank goodness. I feel like someone would have put her up to begging Papa to take her to see it if she were a little older.

So fessup, did you go?

Nope. No interest although I think Margot Robbie is a good actress and quite cute. She did an excellent job in Wolf of Wall Street and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Nope, nada, never.

Though I do have 3 daughters, they are mature ladies capable of taking themselves to the movies, and my 3 grandsons would never ask me to do that.

Why?

Some people go because their kids want to go.

Some people go so that they can see it along with Oppenheimer
as a double feature.

Some people go to review it.

Sans grandkids, I was trying to find out if anyone had given up their balls! Really none of my business but I didn’t expect any confessions unless some are experiencing momentary lapses of judgement!  I don’t think the double feature option would hold up as a good reason. JMHO.

I'd watch that.

While visiting relatives in Indianna, my wife and all the ladies (total of six) all dressed up in pink went to see it.   I stayed with my BILs, we worked on a boat.   The wife was disappointed in the movie as a whole but especially the ending.   That's all I know about it and couldn't care less to know any more.

Does Barbie still have no nipples?   Grin

She's had some wacko roles, but Margot Robbie is not hard to look at.

Have not been to a theater in 20years or so.  Even though some (few) movies really shine in the wide screen (like Dances with Wolves).

I get very irritated when people yak, and pay too much for Verizon as it is (so I wait for all movies to come on the TV).

Wife asked me if I wanted to go and take our youngest grand daughter with.  I laughed at her and said "good one."  She said it wasn't a joke, I told her it sounded like one to me.

I don’t know about a legend. I’d say the cream colored straw hat is a big faux pas. A pink cowboy hat is in order.

I salute the Dad. I would never have enough huevos to pull that off.

Yes.  Today.

My wife and I are movie fans; we will try to watch Oscar nominated Best Picture shows.  And with the hype I know this one will be nominated.  Although the prestige of Oscar has diminished greatly in the last five years or so.

Not what I thought it was going to be.  An artsy movie, good sound track, and they made fun of the Barbie concept through out.  Not really a man hating film, but there were some “truth bombs” thrown out there that are pretty honest.  The comedy was good.  But the overall message in the end was, well . . . poorly done.

No, but if I still had young daughters or granddaughters and they asked me really nice I would.  Doubt I'd like it but that would not be the reason to take them.

My granddaughter just turned 3 this month. Both her Dad and her Nana got her Barbie dolls for her birthday. She ripped the arms off both of them before two days had pasted.

Haven't been to see Barbie.  My 33 year old son took his date to it since she was into pink and said it wasn't too bad, though I don't think it will sway me.

That is actually a pretty funny part of the show; some Barbies have a rather tough life.

And you can't argue with the success of this film.  There will definitely be a Barbie 2, a Barbie 3, and probably a Barbie 4.  A new series is definitely been created.

barbie lady was in suicide squad movie as well,  she had the nicest shorts on.......

My boss (male) admitted to going to see it with his wife and 14 year old daughter.  They bought him a KEN sweatshirt tie-die and all.  funny as heck.   I guess do anything for family right???

as far as movie theatres,  last time in one was about 12 years ago when kids were younger at home.  waste of time and money for me now.

They have made some massive improvements in the accomodations these days - in some, not only do the seats recline and have trays, but they are also heated (would be a big plus for the spousal unit).

I haven’t been to a theater in some time but we used to have a theater called Movie Tavern. Reclining seats and food service brought to your seat during the movie. Stupid expensive for what you got but gotta pay for convenience I suppose. I enjoyed it but couldn’t do it very often, I’m not even sure they are still in business since all this was before Covid.

we still have about 15 miles south of me in country a drive in movie theatre always has double features.  Dirt cheap as well under 20 bucks for 2 movies for a car load.  ONLY huge issue is has to get dark before showing and is like 8 p.m. first show, done by say 10 p.m., then 30 minute intermission, then say 1030 p.m. 2nd movie starts and over by midnight gets awfully LATE for me.

Saw Oppenheimer. I was disappointed. Not at all like the previews. I fell asleep x3. Barbie was better.
