Time for new rear tire on the 99. Was going to try a Dunlop elite 4 this is what on the 15 wing, not happy with the last two Avon Chrome on the 99. No Dunlop Elite 4 to be had. Has any body run the Shinko SE890 tire?

I've ran Avon AV72 Cobra 1x and Bridgestone Exedra 702R 2x. The Exedra Max are not the same but never heard anything negative about them either.

I just put a shrink 890 on the back of my '00 goldwing. Seems to handle well on even dry pavement. Haven't tried it in the wet yet.
Would've preferred a car tire, but couldn't find anything narrow enough to fit.

This is what I have always used on my wing. I get them from wingstuff.com which I always find to be the least expensive.

It’s getting crazy out there.  I needed two rears one for each valk    I ordered a cobra same as I have been using for over ten years.   450$     Bought a metzler for the IS just to check it out 329$.   I may have just bought my last Avon.

The best and longest lasting rear tire that I have found for the Valkyrie is a Metzler Cruisetec.

It feels good, handles well and I average around 14k miles out of them.

BRIDGESTONE TIRE COMBO FOR GL1800 G704/G709
By Bridgestone SKU: WSBRCOMBO

I have the Bridgestone on the front of my new Wing.

I like it much better than the Dunlop that it came from the factory with.

I went with the Shinko 890 Journey on the rear.

I hated these on the Valk but it was the only reasonably priced tire that I could get in a hurry for the Wing.

So far I don't have any complaints about it on the Wing.

I'm not expecting to get much life out of it just because I didn't get much out of one on a Valk.

It could surprise me but it was bought to fill a short term immediate need so it's no big deal if I don't get a lot of miles out of it.

The Dunlop that it came from the factory with only lasted 7k miles, the Shinko can't do much worse than that.

Last summer I ordered an Avon, and it was on back order. I could
get a SE890 180/70 R16 quick, so I ordered that too. The Avon
ended up coming in quickly as well. Anywho... I have the
Shinko in my motorcycle shed and I've still got 80% left
on the Avon... it would be a shame for the Shinko to sit
around and get old...

I have the Bridgestone on the back of my 08 Wing, and due to the tread design it’s hard to get a feel for tread life remaining but it has 10,000 miles on it now and if looks are any indication I’d guess another 10 but I know that probably won’t happen. Just putting it out there for consideration.

Running balancing beads for the first time also, so I’m sold on them too.

Run Shinko SE890's on the front for both Valk IS and DCT Wing. Typically get 10-12K miles out of them

I'm also running beads on the rear Exedra for the 1st. time. Having great success on the front with them in the AV72 Cobra @ 20,000. Hoping it wears out soon so I can change the tire and fork seals at the same time.

Not much selection at this time at my vendor. Been like this off and on for the past 2 years.

https://www.americanmototire.com/search-results/?q=180%2F70-16

I usually run Bridgestone Exedra but I've tried the Exedra Max on a Vulcan Nomad another heavy weight and it performed well in the summer but can't say in wet and/or cold.
