I got it wrong on semi-auto rifles, it was handguns.

The new SB452 was voted and approved: https://legiscan.com/CA/text/SB452/id/2840230#:~:text=This%20bill%20would%20remove%20from,or%20delivering%20a%20semiautomatic%20pistol%2C

To quote: "...  prohibit, commencing on January 1, 2028, a licensed firearms dealer from selling, offering for sale, exchanging, giving, transferring, or delivering a semiautomatic pistol, as defined, unless the pistol has been verified as a microstamping-enabled pistol, ...".

It will probably be signed by the governor Newson in coming months.

Basically this new law requires *any* new pistol to have a feature (i.e. microstamping) that *simply does not exist*.

Unconstitutional? Sure. Will it matter? Definitely not, as it will take 20 years for the case to work its way to the SCOTUS.

They act like the constitution doesn't matter.

What Sacramento needs is what the NM Governor got on her "Public Health Emergency" Ban of people carrying (either concealed or open) of guns in Albaquiry (sorry SP) and the surrounding county.

Drip, drip, drip. Liberals are taking their ques from the militant Muslims. They are playing the long game. It may take 20 years to work its way through the court system but nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Not sure I understand the micro-stamping.  Though did look at article, seems that a system has to be developed to have the pistol stamp the round before it leave the barrel.  Can't understand how that would work.   Can you say unconstitutional.

And that, Sir, is the issue.  The real issue.  What we are leaving for them.

I understood, the microstamping was supposed to be on the primer by the firing pin, so the ejected brass (assuming an autoloader) could be linked to the gun purchase.  IIRC, and a while ago so maybe the loonies have come up with a variation on their hairbrained unworkable BS.  Also, fired rounds are mangled on impact so reading microstamped rounds would be a problem.  They have also talked about putting identifiable markers in the propellant chemistry.  One hairbrained 2A violation scheme after another.

None of this nonsense is designed nor would be used to solve crimes or make guns safer. It’s all just new and creative ways to make more guns illegal. Just so much more infringing on a right that is not to be infringed.

If anybody comes up to you saying they want to talk to you about "reasonable Gun Control", just tell them "There is no such thing as 'Reasonable Gun Control'". Give them an inch - they'll take a mile (or more). "Gun Control" are their code words for "Civilian Disarmament" - period, full stop.

After 3 or 4 people attacked this target with .357 fire at 25 yds it was my turn. I stepped up to the line with my 500 S&W and fired 5 shots in 15 sec.

I would call that REASONABLE gun control!

It's not so much to make more guns illegal as to make them (way) more expensive, or unavailable if the new technology mandated hasn't even been developed yet.

It was proposed gunpowder taggants 20 years ago that made me decide to start reloading.

I can reload, but I don't enjoy it.

But if you continue to vote for those that are hell bent on taking your guns are you really against gun control?

Yes, California has gorgeous scenery and great weather.  But, here in boring Indiana I can go and buy a case of AK-47's or AR's or whatever civilian firearm I want every single day for as long as I want.  Cash and carry.  No waiting period, no asking permission of the local police before I buy, or registration.  Then I can legally carry said firearms with no permit concealed or unconcealed.  And none of these firearms are "special Indiana models".  And no magazine limit.

Personally, I'll take my freedom over pretty views.
