I'm kinda spit-balling this one, but Billings is, by road, 712 miles from the reported headwaters of the Missisloppy in South Clearwater MN. Based on that, we don't narrow things down much but basically lose the sliver of Utah and Arizona as possibilities...

Of course she also eliminated western portions of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska?  Perhaps we weren't considering those as real possibilities.    Wink

True... She also didn't specify if it was closer as the crow flies or as the Valk rolls, so there's a lot of squish in there... Although I wasn't expecting El Paso to be near the top of the list to begin with...

...although a certain couple's back yard in Olathe Kansas is still very much in contention...

Per Serk's map that leaves just Iowa and Missouri. Iowa is where I discovered America...and the gentle sex. If in the right location, it would be a good place for a rally.

Umm, are you sure?  I believe the Serkle still has several other states.

F6Gal posted the following rather nebulous photo on social media so relaying it here:

My first thought is Iowa, since that state is known for corn but not familiar with any fun motorcycle roads in Iowa...

...of course, I thought Ohio was totally flat and had no fun motorcycle roads either, so.....

Not sure how we are defining "fun motorcycle roads".

On Iowa's eastern seaboard "Mississippi" there are many roads around and north of Dubuque that are "fun". They are not particularly challenging to seasoned riders but maybe mildly challenging to a novice. If Dubuque is the place it is central to a wonderful corridor of motorcycle roads along the river on the Iowa side, the Wisconsin side, and an area into Illinois and the Galena area. The southeast of Minn. is supposed to be pretty good too Motorcycle wise.

The northeast part of Iowa is called "Little Switzerland". Unique landscapes and fun roads.

From the far northeast corner of Iowa. County road A-26. Love this curvy road, love this sign. It just curves and curves and curves.

Now that's interesting... A Google Image search on "National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium Alligators" definitely looks like the same or a similar enclosure..... (And if so, I'll hafta hand my crown over to RNFWP for sleuthing it out!)

Re. the corny picture, that goes along with the motto of Iowa being know as the tall corn state. Another possibility might be St. Joseph, MO...about 50 miles north of KC. I believe a national Yamaha gathering was held there not too long ago. Personally I'd go for Dubuque, would let me visit my home town of Ft. Dodge about 185 miles due west on US20. Or visit some cousins in NE Iowa, the metropolis of Riceville where I did some growing up. My entire family came from there, farmers for generations with few exceptions...one being my dad.

Well, I still don't have a clue as to where but I have come to the decision that if InZane is within 1,000 miles of Hattiesburg, I'm planning to attend.   If greater than that distance, I'll have to weigh the cost of additional travel.

Oh, BTW.   Bump

Of course until a contract is signed there is no guarantee but it looks like I may see you in June (if we are both still alive).    cooldude

Well, I have plans for after InZane, those plans do require some ability to move on my own.   No idea on your plans but.............

Well, to be  fair,   Moonshot guessed it first... although that was more wishful thinking than actual sleuthing.   So the sleuthing crown does, in fact, go to RNFWP.

Even sleuths have hunches. Confirmation of this has me doing a happy dance! Love that area. Got a daughter and SIL a little south of there. Gonna be great!
