What's the handle sticking up from the passenger backrest? Does it serve the same purpose as the broom handle I duct-taped to my 4-year-old's bicycle to help him learn to balance?

Does it serve the same purpose as the broom handle I duct-taped to my 4-year-old's bicycle to help him learn to balance? well, we can tell YOU.....sir....are NOT a Cheaha Vet. That is THE SIREN in the background. Ask anyone who has been up there....in the old days....in the pavilion...about the "experience" of having THAT siren go off in your ear...over and over....on top of the mountain....the highest point...with tonrados, hail, storms....coming your way....especially in the old days when we had it OUTSIDE in that little pavilion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a siren on top of the mountain.... for you Vets ....think "whooooooooooop, whooooooooooooop, whoooooooooooop....the siren goes off...and then THAT VOICE ....Severe Thunderstorm Warning....or....Tornado warning...." OK, where ya' gonna' hide? you're on TOP OF A MOUNTAIN....literally.....in a little pavilion ps....we hold it in a private lodge now, so IF the weather got bad...we can be indoors in shelter. we also moved the dates back to the first weekend in May to get out of that BAD weather in April we had so often!

That sounds like a signal to grab a beverage and a lawnchair to watch the storm!

last year....scouting trip in March i think...it was Sherry, me, Jack and Phyllis up top scouting...pre riding, etc. i had a CHalet. Siren goes off. we're standing on the porch....of the chalet...thinking oh here we go again! then i say "hey, the chalet has a TV...let's go look at the weather channel"
And we turn it on just in time for them to be showing "and now, here's live footage of the tornado on top of Cheaha Mountain from their web cam". There it is....and the scenery looks VERY FAMILIAR.
and then we look back out the porch window....and realize WHY THE SCENERY LOOKS SO FAMILIAR. It's right there, like a quarter mile from us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whew hooo! I've only been to the Cheaha rally one time. And I'm here to tell you that there "voice" on that pole will SCARE THE BEJEEBERS out of you.
Shala and I were walking from the campgrounds upward, along the paved road, towards the lodge at the top of the mountain last year, when all of a sudden, and without warning, BBBBBOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM! THE VOICE! Something to the tune of "SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY"
In total darkness, it seems that voice is from GOD above. LOL. Not for the weak of heart. I don't remember who screamed the loudest - me or Shala.
The funny thing is, there wasn't any weather to speak of for many, many miles. Once at the top of the mountain, one could see far, far away towards the west, a small thunderstorm approaching, but the skies above were breathtakingly clear and full of stars.

Tim, I love it and the black beauty can stay. I'll take 2 XL long sleeve.

i forgot to say....details on pricing and options (long sleeve..ladies shirts....colors....etc.) soon to come. most likely we'll only do one or two color shirts this time. Most likely we WILL do long sleeve, short....and MOST likely....offer ladies shirts too (they have a different cut/style...Sherry can tell you more about them....we used them for the first time last year at the Rune rally). The design is going to the shirt lady today....and we MOST likely will make that lettering at the bottom a bit bigger and a color that stands out more............ STAY TUNED........please.............AND GIT-R-DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! www.valkyrieriders.com/cheaha

I like the Black Interstate. Just happen to have one. I have not been had the pleasure of hearing the horn. Tim, I believe that you have misspelled Valkyrie in your shortcut. 1 mistake in how many years? Fuzzy (Louisiana)
