She likes to order crap from Temu, nothing expensive mind you. I think it's the thrill of getting a package in the mail and tearing it open to remind her what she has ordered. She recently ordered some "all powerful" magnets...oooh she jumped all over that one. Got them in the mail, they don't have enough power to pull a setting hen off her nest if you glued one to the chicken's head and you held the other. Or, a bit more graphic...pull a sick whore off a greasy commode! Enough of the sweet talk, now to today's event.

I had recently ordered some shoes on line, something I seldom do simply because they usually don't fit. Today was no different...but I digress. Our cute little mail gal came to the door with a package, I took it from her, we passed a couple pleasantries...and she's off to her next stop. It's a nice size package, two shoe boxes taped together, I just set it down on the end table near where Nancy was sitting and walked away to waste more time on the 'puter...with an eye on the clock. I wanted to see how long it would take and was surprised she lasted nearly a half hour before I get "hey, aren't you just dying to see your new shoes?" "No, I'm good, I'll check them out later" while smiling inwardly. Evil  A few seconds later the box is planted on the desk under my nose, which I followed with a "gotcha." As I said...neither pair fit but sure look nice. Angry

EDIT:  I hope you all understand, we have fun sorta pranking each other. We laugh a lot, I often bring flowers home...usually when I stop at the grocery store and have to walk past their display of pretties. Thing is, have no fear cuz she'll get me back on the shoe thing when least expected.  Grin

I can never buy (order) shoes/boots, hats, gloves or helmets without personal try-on.

It hasn't gotten any better with all the clothing made in Asia (and elsewhere) either.

I was able to order a pair of Danner Acadia boots in my 8 1/2 Wide a while back, and they were a perfect fit.  Best footwear in the world, made in Oregon, America.

For the longest time, I thought I had the same size as my dad - 8EEE.

Then I tried 8 1/2 EEE - a bit better, but my toenails were still always in bad shape.

Finally - listened to my wife and got some 9EEE - work MUCH better...

With these shoes, the oversize pair I could move my foot forward enough to put two fingers behind my heel. That's a bit large, the order said 11.5 but this had to be no less than 12.5...maybe even a 13. The other pair were also ordered as 11.5 but I couldn't get my foot in them. Both pair had the same size markings on them. Oh well, the 9 yr. old filling the order somewhere in China probably was tired. Just guessing on the country but wouldn't be surprised. These seem to have good construction so will probably donate to the local Christian Outreach store. With that organization, anything that doesn't sell is shipped to various mission fields in Africa.

Amazon has a new program called "Try before you Buy".  You get 7 days to try the fit, then keep or send it back.  You don't get charged until decide to keep it.  Read about it at this link. Eliminates the risk while you still have great selection and the convenience of shopping at home.  I have no personal interest in this - just discovered it and bought some running shoes today.

That's (almost) the same thing my buddy did when he ordered a Russian Bride but, turned out this was a no return deal.
