Ok, so this has been something that's been kinda bugging me lately... I drained my carbs, and filled my tank (with stabil) for the long MN winter... I'm sure I'm overthinking this, but how do you refill the carbs come springtime. I'm going to be taking the tank off to drain it, so do I get a funnel and fill the bowls with the tank off?? It's my first winter with the lady...

Tell me you didn't FILL the tank with Stabil.

Stabil is mixed into the fuel to stabilize and keep the fuel from turning to varnish.

If you mixed the Stabil and fuel, then just turn on your petcock, turn on the choke, and start your motor. Run/ride the bike as normal, then just fill up as normal when you run out to your reserve.

Well I do not have that problem but I would think when riding season comes along get a 5 gallon can of fuel with a little seafoam whatever mix put the tank back on the bike and fill with fuel.
Turn the fuel on hit the choke and crank it might take a second to catch but the bowls will fill on there own

Just a couple of points first I would reconsider draining the tank. The reason is these tanks do rust and with the mix of Stabil and fuel filled to the top helps stop rust and the Stabil should keep the fuel good for the winter. Next run the bike with the stabil and let it fill the carbs then shut off the bike and drain the bowls of the carbs. I would also recommend getting a little 2 cycle engine oil and running it in the gas too to help with keeping the cylinders lubricated with oil in storage and keep internals lubricated. In the spring take off the vacuum line to the fuel valve and just suck on it or apply vacuum and let the bowls fill. Always easier with a vacuum pump takes a few seconds then start like normal. I would also consider replacing the petcock.

Yes it is ok to fill with a funnel and clean filtered gas, while the tank is off.
Or you can mount the tank, plug in the fuel line, apply light vaccum to the petcock port, turn the petcock to on and the carbs will fill. Then connect the vaccum line to the petcock port.

It will then start quicker and easier, if you fill the carbs.

I don't understand why you'd want to remove the tank, you could siphon it just as well.

But I would suggest to do nothing but simply go ahead and start it!

Make sure the battery is fully charged and use the choke.

It's a very simple thing, really!

Check the oil and battery, apply full chock, crank it up, let idle for about 30 seconds, get on it and ride while releasing the choke, ride until tank is empty, fill and repeat.

Same thing you'd do if you ran outta gas! Crank on it.

You are like my brother, you worry too firkin much.....

Make sure the battery is FULLY charged.   Don't ask why, don't have time to go into why here now.
turn the fuel valve on
Pull the choke ALL THE WAY on.   hit resistance, push it some more
hit the starter button.

after about 20 seconds, if it hasn't started. let the starter cool off for a few minutes, less than 4.

hit the starter again, it should fire this trip. when it does fire on 1 cylinder, keep on the starter button a little longer.   OH, keep your fingers off the throttle until ya get the choke off.   You go to blip it and she will die.

If it doesn't start, wait the 20 seconds again, and then go for it till it his running.  gradually turn the choke off.  Turn it off too quick she will die and you will have to choke and restart.

Same way you would do it if she runs out of gas on ya..............   Only on the run out of gas, take it off of reserve before you will away....  If ya don't, you will be walking for gas...................
