So many colors to choose from yet so few stand out

Covington, TN

« on: November 06, 2023, 03:34:10 PM »

I know some will scoff at the idea but, I got a chance to buy a very used jet ski trailer (for a single jet ski).  It was too good of a deal to pass up but, I wasn't really sure what I was going to do with it.   It isn't all that wide since it's for a single jet ski.   Pretty sure my zero-turn mower is too wide to fit on it but, it was a really good deal.   Besides that, anyone that knows me knows I like trailers, all sorts of trailers.

Then, I thought this trailer would be ideal to transport a single Valkyrie.   Already have a small trailer that'll handle two Valks at once or the trike.   Heck, I've got a gooseneck trailer that will haul 5 or 6 Valkyries.  Anyway, I have a limited amount of galvanized C channel and a sheet of expanded metal.   By Golly, I think I can make this work.

I'd post pictures but, I never figured out how to.   Regardless, I have a couple of neighbors that ask to borrow my other small trailer and I don't like loaning it out.   Seems like there's always something wrong when it's brought back, either broken taillights, torn/busted wires or a flat tire or something.   Anyway, I spent my day fabricating and cutting C Channel to form supports for that expanded metal flooring.   But I did find time to ride the "Rat Bike" a little over an hour.  I figure it's the perfect size trailer to pull behind my Solstice convertible, not sure that will ever happen but, what the hay.

Gave my welder to my son so, looks like I'll have to drill holes and bolt the pieces together.  Anyway, this is the kind of thing that happens when I get bored.  Wink

2 trailers already, big one and a smaller one that will handle 2 VAlkyries.  Might as well get a 3rd that will handle 1 cycle, right?   I thought I had an obsession, guess I am not alone having 3 myself but trying to sell the smaller one.

Sir, you have no idea.   One 30 foot box gooseneck trailer, one 16 foot stock gooseneck trailer, one 24 foot gooseneck flatbed car hauler trailer, one tilt bed tandem axle bumper pull trailer, plus the two trailers already mentioned.   Yeah, I've got it bad, whatever it is.

But, being honest, I used to be a part time hot shot operator/owner.   Ya never know what the next load is going to be.

I own three but I only have two. Somebody stole my first one. Somebody tried to steal my newest one but forgot to put the pin back in his receiver hitch so I got to keep my trailer and his 3 ball hitch!

Rams, you got me beat, I only have 4 trailers, but I also have the same weird attraction to them. Smiley

14 ' dump trailer, 12' flat bed, 8' utility that multitasks as a single bike/atv/snow mobile trailer and a 12 box trailer that is now just a tool storage unit.

I hope you can figure out the picture thing for some trailer porn Tongue

Well, just so you know, I'm envious.   Been wanting a gooseneck dump trailer for a while now.  Wanting one versus needing one are two different things to the spousal unit.   Wink
She still doesn't understand why there's three Valkyries in our garage.  Obviously, we have a failure to communicate.........   2funny

Well, none of mine are gooseneck, so you got me there.

I do enjoy the dump trailer when I get to needing it, but that's not often.

Looks good in the lot.

I do have you on the Valkyrie numbers though. cooldude

But in your defense, I've no one to explain that fetish too except myself and sometimes I wonder.

Congratulations on the Valkyries.   I've been toying with the idea of adding a Valkyrie/sidecar rig but, just haven't convinced myself I'd like riding one.   Regardless, Ride On!!

Rams   cheers

My bike trailer is built on a jet ski trailer frame. It works great!
