I have a set of aftermarket add-on LED brake lights about the size of a quarter and are super bright. I had them mounted on my Tourer between the bags and rear fender and were very effective but created a problem; they flashed for as long as I had the brakes on. I want to mount them on the back of the trike under the trunk but want them to only flash for a few seconds then go solid rather than continue to flash all while at a stoplight. Is there any add-on box I can wire into the circuit that will accomplish that? These lights have a small controller that will create 18 different patterns, I now have them set to flutter-flash alternately side to side but there's a couple other patterns I'd like to try if I could get it to go solid after a few seconds. Just to give you an idea on effectiveness, a city cop in Winter Park, FL pulled up at a light and commented on how bright they were, said he could see them flashing over a block away.

I've had them for some time, they're made by LEDGlow Lighting LLC out of New Jersey if I recall. Guess I could Google to see if they're still in business and call their Tech dept. if so. I just thought I'd see if anyone had any ideas re. my question.

For clarification, my regular brake/taillights on the trike already have flashing bulbs installed. They flash a few times then go solid when applying the brakes.  The aftermarket units I have are what I'm wanting to make use of but again...want them to flash for a short time then go solid. I'm wondering if the module that H13man referenced would do that for me.

It appears the maker of your unit is still in business.  I only see a couple kits with brake light connectivity available but both are very reasonably priced, however I'm not sure what functions they may have.  Best bet is probably to call them and ask what would be needed to achieve your goal.

If the original mfg is unable to help out you could remove their control box and replace with one similar to these off ebay.  I think these controls are exactly what your looking for.

I have used the strobe box Timbo1 mentioned from eBay. Unless you’re original has a setting you want, there’s nothing to stop them from flashing. You could remove the original box and replace with the strobe box, that would probably be the easiest.

I didn't think it was legal to have brake lights that didn't go solid after a few blinks.

John I use Sylvania Silverstar signal bulbs as the only upgrade with the Back Off. I would think using a LED variant replacement bulb only for braking could work with the BO but the flashing, don't know. I see folk (Darwin candidates) upgrade to LED turn lamps on cars and they hyperflash thus they are less bright than the stock bulbs. Read the options on the Back off site for wiring but the 3 flash works great as I use it for a warning system constantly before they get too close. I mounted mine with double stick under the seat just above the document box on the rear fender and tapped into the wiring harness next to it.
