If President John F. Kennedy hadn't been assassinated on 22 November, 1963 he would be 106 years old now.

That is ridiculous.  We were hardly in Vietnam when Kennedy was assassinated.  The advisors sent to Vietnam were referred to as "Kennedy's Rifles".  There are many speculations regarding why someone wanted JFK dead but I have never heard anyone believable claim it was to keep us in Vietnam.   crazy2

It was a very sad day as I remember it well. LBJ theory is the most likely giving the change in social behavior at that time. He was quite the power hungry redneck in his day.

Very Sad day as I well remember. They sent us home from school.
As to the Viet Nam post, that is total speculation and first time I have heard that. Can you say conspiracy theory?

Never heard that about nam. JFK started the seals program. My uncle was UDT in WW11, was caught in Japan and a POW for 7 years. The UDT progam became the seals.

Not to get the thread moved but I’ve heard it many times. Kennedy was looking to get our “advisors” out.

When I was in they were called UDT/Seals. I’m curious why your uncle was held prisoner for 7 years ?
