Come by soon, but there's won't be a hundred thousand dollar car for you to drive  coolsmiley ...

I finally got a new (to me) twenty thousand dollar one though, just a month or so ago:

Interesting take (Once I updated my paywall bypass addon that'd gotten out of date Wink )

Keeping the ICE engine the star of the show and just having enough EV to do what EV does best - instant massive torque, then letting the good ole' Detroit Iron do what it does best after that...

The cockpit looks very cool, but incredibly uncomfortable for more than a few minutes though. Ouch!

Please tell me more... those are supposed to be sharable links...

EDIT:

The seat goes up and down as well as pretty far back... it fits surprisingly
tall people. I googled this up:

https://www.reddit.com/r/tall/comments/3kkh37/tall_car_report_610_impressions_of_bmw_i3_and/

EDIT EDIT: The wsj webshare links I post might only be good for seven days. I'd
appreciate hearing from anybody about whether they work or not...

Very strange. Initially when I went to this link:

https://www.wsj.com/lifestyle/cars/2024-corvette-e-ray-review-the-quickest-vette-ever-88a0fc98?st=aoez5r32giu959x&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink

It would show the headline and a few sentences of the first paragraph then block out the rest telling me to pay up...

I updated my paywall bypass addon, and then it worked and I was able to read the article.

What's confusing is that now I can access the full article without the paywall bypass enabled, even tried it in a clean browser configuration and that worked too, so not sure what's up with that.

As far as the cockpit goes, it looks like it'd be fun for an hour or two, but get really cramped side to side after that...

(I've spent a few hours driving the previous generation Vette, and had the same impression... It was fun at first, but I was more than happy to get out of it after just a few hours.)

Does the Corvette cockpit remind anyone of a Goldwing?

feh

I am a bench seat man,  loved the fact that you could put your arm around your girl

The last bench seat car I had was my 73 Monte Carlo

I gave my future wife a ride home the 1st night we met.

Always loved the older corvettes, last one I drove was 2013 convertible

sure the new ones would spank any of the old ones

I loved mine. (1969)

Hated to see it go.  Stayed in CA when I moved to VA.

In front of my base quarters on March AFB.

The first time the wife got in, she left skin from both legs on the red hot sidepipes.  Thereafter, she hated that car.   Grin angel

Whether from a provided link or from a google search, WSJ always wants me to pay up.

Shhhh, don't tell anyone, Google and other sites don't want you using this, but:

https://gitlab.com/magnolia1234/bypass-paywalls-chrome-clean#installation

(You can't install or update it from the Google Chrome store, and unlike most Chrome extensions/addons, installing it on one computer does NOT mirror to other computers you may use)

And knowing that, I tried from another computer to read the article, and got this:

(Until I installed the extension I linked above, then I was able to read the entire article again.)
