The message is as clear as the one in "The Notebook"

It made my wife bawl like a baby as well as her mom is in memory unit as well and pretty far along

I am singularity amazed at a negative comment with laugher about a video the shows goodness in life and shows how things might change, for the good, when you never expect them to.  It gives one hope.

Life is special.  Love is special.

No, it's not a spoof video.  It's a video showing life has promise.  Life is good and there are bad times.  It gives one hope.   It give one hope.

And yes it is a commercial in that it has Chevrolet at the end and it was done as a commercial.  The only negative comment I have is that it says "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas".

And yes commercials can convey the goodness in people and the hope in life.   In fact, it is the way it was for many Christmas's in my life.

Actually, there is a connection to reality in how granny reacted to the music. It's been shown many times that music will often bring a person around, if but for a few moments to sometimes a few hours. That person will usually revert back into their shell, but for the loved ones around them it's miraculous albeit short lived. A gentleman in my church in Orlando faced much the same thing with his wife who was considered totally gone mentally. He was visiting her one Sunday and was watching a service on TV while holding her hand...she was simply laying there with eyes fixed and that distant non-focused look. The TV service started to play & sing one of the many old hymns a lot of us grew up with and he suddenly realized she was humming along with it. She then called him by name and said "Charles, isn't that beautiful?" She squeezed his hand and they talked for nearly 30 minutes, and then was gone again. I somehow think that would be more difficult to handle than never having that few moments one more time.

Carl , you are cold. Yes , it's a commercial. But it hits home. I just lost the love of my life. Yes , I am teary .  It is touching on reality.  It brings out a point.  It would be impossible to catch that for real. Very personal!

You're right, Ross, I am a bit cold.  I do understand how a make believe story can bring up memories of real events.  I guess I am influenced not only by my cold nature but also that I seriously dislike Chevrolet.  I do hate to see companies try to gain from an emotional appeal that really has nothing to do with their product.

My heart goes out to those of you who have real memories that were brought up by Chevy's emotional appeal.   Cry

It is a legitimate question.  Im not really a Ford guy either, although as a teenager I owned a couple.  My cages have generally been Mopars and Hondas.

I would like to think that I would find unacceptable any manufacturer's use of a created emotional appeal to promote their unrelated product.

I apologize for those offended by my lack of tears and my distaste for Chevy.  My cold heart and my unreasonable focus on my view of reality do tend to get the best of me often.

I mean, this definitely isn't the first time a vehicle manufacturer has toyed with our emotions to sell their products...

The 1st. one I remember (2021) but I like the new one also. Not many commercials have thoughtful meaning/message around them. This one still gets my eyes to water.

Ouch!  That's really harsh.  I'm all about Christmas and celebrating the earthly birth of Jesus.  I am rubbed the wrong way by the presentation of imaginary emotional appeal scenarios to sell someone's product that has nothing to do with the emotional scenario.

I truly feel badly for those of you who were offended.  We see from differing angles.

The area in which I live is represented, in the State Legislature, by a newly elected representative.  Representative Joe White, who I have meet several times and find him to be a real, down to earth "conservative".  I admire him for his dedication and beliefs.

Joe White, posted this on Facebook; regarding "A Holiday to Rememberer - Chevrolet"

If you haven’t seen it, then watch! If you have seen it, watch again!

All comments were positive.   Point is, one more person sees it, not as a commercial, but as a message about life.

Truth has always been stranger than fiction. So Chevrolet recreated a memory that someone has somewhere of a real event or close to it.

I know what they are trying to do but can enjoy the thought of what they are reflecting. Its like a movie that hits close to home.

My prayers and sympathies go to those who have loved ones that are only there occasionally. Its so hard, its so hard sometimes to be a caretaker also, till they cannot.

Merry Christmas and God bless the USA, May the future bring times when we can look back and celebrate life in all its pleasures and blessings with loved ones.

Till they fart at the table.  Grin

I can see both sides.  Chevy trying to get some good will hitting home with a lot of the same people that Bud Lite pissed off.

I can appreciate this commercial for what it appears to be just like I appreciated the Bud 9/11 Commercial with the Clydesdales.  Don't like the company but sure liked that commercial.

Ive owned my truck for  20 years and its actually 32 years old. I never would have thought that I would have owned a vehicle that long. Funny thing I did not even think it was possible for an everyday vehicle. Its not a garage queen it does its job everyday, I wonder if the new vehicles or the EVs are going to be able to say that.
