Green Bay has, among its many oddities, an old Dutch custom of St. Nick's Day which occurs on December 6 each year. In Holland they would, as the story goes, have the children put their wooden shoes outside near the door hoping St. Nick would honor them with various treats. After Nancy told me of this, I decided since I didn't have any wooden shoes I figured I would try the next best thing...hang an old pair of boxer briefs taken from the dirty clothes basket. So, instead of hanging a small sock over the fireplace, I made use the the shorts since they're much larger and figured St. Nick could put more treats in it. I will add here that certain ribald remarks were made by "someone" re. treats in my shorts. To accommodate the expected booty, I put some clamps over the legs to prevent anything falling out...as you can see it paid off big time however my blood sugar took quite a leap. I'm told all items were sourced at the Dollar Store, my wife being a regular customer there. I kid her about the manager calling to check on her well-being if she hasn't been in there for a couple days. Grin

The Booty haul...note the 2 Matchbox items. One is a Toyota 4Runner and the other a trailer with a motorcycle on it. Rather appropriate I thought.

The bike on the trailer looks like a HD.  Is there an oil stain on the trailer. 2funny 2funny

Thanks Jess, this was just one silly thing with which we've had fun. Both of our lives have been riddled with headache and heartache in recent years but individually we had done our best to stay true to our faith during those trials. I sometimes wonder if this might be our reward for doing so. These last years of our time on earth is a lot more fun together than being alone and I/we are thankful for it.  smitten

My wife has a love for orange slice candy so while she was shopping in exceedly large strip mall I went to DT to see if they had my seasonal strawberry nougats which they didn't at this time. Anyway they had orange slices that were pretty fresh. (squeeze test Smiley Well it turns out she said they are the best she had to date. We have 5 Dollar Tree's with a super sized one being built next to the newest Walmart in the area.
