By dad was into records and record players.  Later in life he shifted to CDs but...... still had that turntable and those two "stereo" speakers.

Mom and dad moved to White Oak, SC for their retirement years.  It was an older house, with an upstairs  area for bedrooms and downstairs was a living room, a family room, dinner room and breakfast area.

The living room was where the stereo equipment was located.  It was also where the Christmas Tree was placed.

Dad loved the music for his stereo. And we listened to Perry Como, and Frank Sinatra, and Bing Crosby, and others.   Dad passed his CDs down to me.   I took them and moved the music from his CDs (which I still have) to MP3 files and put them on my NAS and a flash drive.

The wife wanted to go back to what we had done in the past, so tonight I copied sixty (60) or so songs from the NAS to a new flash drive and plugged it in to my Sony amplifier.

We are listening to that music now.  Two songs came forth that are worthy of note.

The first is Some Children See Him sung by Andy Williams.   It was done, according to the text below the video in 1964.   But, it is the words of the song that are important and should bring peace to each of us. The first link below.

The second song is Little Altar Boy, also sung by Andy Williams.  Again, the words are important.   It is found in the second link...

I mention this because both songs bear witness to the fact that skin color is just a thing.  We are all human.  We were all created by a single God and the color of our skin is just that, a color.  It does not define us or make us who we are.

Also today is the third day of Chanuka commemorating the recovery of Jerusalem and subsequent rededication of the Second Temple.
