Hey gang,

I could use some tips/pointers or even some recommendations for hiring a transport carrier to get a car from Florida to NJ.

I do not need an enclosed trailer/carrier and do not want someone to drive it up. I don’t have the time or patience to fly down and drive it up here either.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Ron (Rams) in MS used to do that sort of thing.  May still.

Amtrak trains run from Orlando to Newark.  And I believe they ship cars.

The "auto train" where both you and your car travel, ends in Lorton VA (just a few miles south of me).  Lorton VA to NJ is easier than FL to NJ.  If you used that, I might be able to help out.

But maybe they ship without you traveling too, and to NJ.

Thanks guys but this isn’t a speciality car, just a Camry my dad had, which my brother now has but doesn’t need it. My wife’s Camry has 370k and won’t last forever, so I just need to get that car up here. Nothing urgent but my brother only has so much parking space at his house down there.

I know a few that do it, I will see if I can find their numbers and find the particulars.

Robert thank you but don’t put yourself out. This really isn’t a huge deal, I was just thinking there may have been people who used a carrier or gone through the process and could pass along a few things.

I’ve scrolled through the internet and came up with a few companies to call so I’ll just wing it and see who offers what and their prices.

I could use some tips/pointers or even some recommendations for hiring a transport carrier to get a car from Florida to NJ.

In December of 2020 I needed a Bronco II shipped from Tampa, Fl. to Reidsville, NC.

I signed up on the uship.com website. Within a few hrs. I had 6-8 shipping bids from transport services. The # of bids continued to climb over the next few days. I talked/messaged with several of the companies and chose one based on $ and scheduling. I also needed a motorcycle shipped from Tampa at the same time. I worked a deal out with my chosen shipper and he delivered both to my house in NC for just under $1200.

Several of the shippers I contacted were willing to negotiate the price. Some were not willing to negotiate.

Did you at least call Amtrak and ask about it?

The car is in south Florida, just about 200+/- miles from Orlando.
