Used to see george at gruene hall back in the 70s  there was no george strait they were called the ace in the hole band.  Gruene the town was abandoned and a ghost town fast forward to today a crowded tourist trap my how things have changed

In another (military) life, I had a Lt. Col I worked for tell me that Specialist Straight was assigned to his unit in Hawaii and was in a band made up of Army folks.   Have no idea if that's true or not but, it made for good conversation.

He played at our prom in '82.  My college in '85, and have seen him a couple times at the county fair.  I have always enjoyed his music.  I like the fact that he never used the flash and fog.  He came out and sang and that was enough.
