The last Camaro has been built and layoffs are imminent. I knew this was coming but it kind of slipped up on me time wise. I think I also saw where the Challenger has been discontinued. Of no great concern to many, me included but noting it’s the end of and era of the pony car wars started in the sixties. Don’t know about the Mustangs future. They were a big part of the performance image for the automakers for a long time even though the smog years killed them off for a time.

I was never a real expert, but I remember a time when you could tell a Chevy from a Ford from a Chrysler/Dodge (or a Rambler) with just a glance.

For some time now, they all look about the same.  Especially the wide open front end clips/grilles, which look to me like a big piece of body work fell off the front of all those cars & SUVs (or they were in an accident).

I think it's fugly.

Here's the way a grille should look.

yah,  not probably going to pull the trigger, but was considering before wife said NO,  buying a new Camara decked out the way I want it LS2 trim mid-level 6.2L V8 can get one if can just pay full msrp in low 40's.  that is NOT bad for a performance machine that still will achieve 26 hwy mpg or so.  If you look at most vehicles nowadays being  mid 30's or more new,  I think low 40's is a bargain on a new Camaro.  Yah, you can deck them out over 55K or more, but even mid level trim in low to mid 40's msrp is IMO worth a look at.

Is sad to say but in 10 more years about all mfgs will either be going all electric or hybrid or turbo 4 cylinders for powerplants, NO MORE V8 engines.  Pretty sure most of us do not want to live to see that day come.

Couple more cancelled nameplates: “300”, “Charger “
Here’s a resurrected model: “Electra”, Guess why…

...and for the $Current_Generation these are what they think of when you talk about grills.....

(Embarrassed to admit one of the triplets asked for a set for X-mas.... After I stopped laughing I put a VERY firm "NO"...)

Oh, so close.  1966 Impala.

About 30 years ago I would scavenge a salvage yard (80 acres worth) for a piece or two for my 66 Super Sport.  With a backpack of tools and a few sandwiches they were fun afternoons.  I would pull these grills consistently over the years; they would take me about an hour and cost $50.  I think I had 6 or 7 of them along with some lower grills and sides as well.  I sold most of them over the years but have kept 2 of them for decoration, pieces of fine art to me.  And yes, I still have the actual 66 SS.
