I'm one.  A Michigan and (most of the) Big Ten fan.  (and the Air Force Academy who skunked VA's 11-1 JMU with 351 yards rushing)

After the series of early 6-6 team games (ho hum), the upcoming better bowls feature Big Ten teams in 8  remaining games[/i].

Go Big Ten!  (down with the SEC  Grin)

I realize Conference realignments are all about money and prestige, but I didn't like Rutgers and Maryland  getting in at all, and I really don't want Pac Ten teams joining next year (Washington, Oregon, USC, UCLA, all past Rose Bowl competitors with Big Ten).

The Big Ten will be the Big 18.  The world is already upside down enough.   tickedoff

Merry Christmas to you good fellows.   Smiley

Well - the BIG 12 (my conference) is either going to be or already is much different - lots of teams from other former conferences.

I still think Kansas and K-state (instate rival) will dominate men's Basketball, even with all the newcomers.

I got to stand center field where they're about to play the Cotton Bowl and pelt a few thousand kids with Nerf guns last night. That's about the extent of my college football knowledge... Smiley

I guess Georgia put it to FSU in the Snub bowl. If I'm not mistaken, with a record score margin! 42-3 at half time and added another 3 touch downs in the second half (63-3). Their 3rd string q-back played about 5 minutes along with a bunch of other "younger" players. Obviously not trying to run up the score. To FSU's defense, they had a lot of op-out players. Georgia was also missing a few players themselves. I think FSU found out why they weren't in the play off game.

So far, these bowl games that I’ve seen have been terrible. Hopefully the College Playoffs will go better.

I believe GA had five players opt out.   I don't remember who they were.   But the Seminoles list of opt outs is long and represents the backbone of the team.   It was a scheduled blow out from the beginning.  I am an SEC fan and wanted GA to win but, I would have preferred a win against the regular season team and not the second and third string players.

No doubt Georgia whooped the heck out of FL State, but look at the list of those FL players who opted out: Here's a list of all the Seminoles who didn't suit up in Miami.
Kind of explains the lopsided score. GA didn't play the same team that won all those games this season.

In the future all people will see is the score. FSU has that to live down. After that many guys quitting on their team, I wouldn't want to play at FSU.

If I were the King of the Orange Bowl I would have un-invited FSU. Just about any quality high school team would have been a better opponent. I think the players that got the school invited shouldn't be allowed to "op-out". I've noticed a lot of empty seats in the bowl games I've watched.

I read that over 90% of the years offence was produced by the "op-out" players. So yeah, there wasn't much offence on the field.

Ga. did play a lot of 2nd and 3rd string players in the second half.

That win should have an asterisk after the score IMHO.   Again, I'm an SEC fan but.............
In my humble opinion, by the half time, the game was already way out of hand.   Those second and third string GA players should have gotten into the game in the second quarter (again, my opinion).
I would not be bragging about this win.   Still an SEC fan but, there was nor legitimate reason to run the score up the way it was done.

Rams

No Asterisk! So FSU couldn't handle the set back of not being in the top 4 so they quit the team basically. Great leadership and quality of players IMO. They lose one of the Top QB's in the country that made FSU tick and barley beat a Sorry Louisville runner up ACC Champion with their Back up QB. Louisville got nailed by KY and looked sorry in their bowl game. FSU didn't have any advantage of winning without TJ- FSU record setting QB at the level they were use to so those players new it and took off. Bottom line, GA didn't get it done to beat AL in the SEC Championship. If GA would have won FSU would have probably been in at #4. GA was devastated after loosing to AL who played better than GA, not much but enough to get the win. So let me get this straight, you're thinking that UGA should have put subs in earlier and snub the players that gave them such a great season even though they themselves had players not show up? UGA played a good game but with or w/o TJ=FSU #1QB the outcome would have been the same. There was very little whining in the GA base. They didn't get the job done against AL but with honor and committment they went and Won the Orange bowl convincingly. Find what Kirby said about the game. He is one of many coaches who voiced it. The NIL and Portal has changed College Sports and there needs to be some serious reforms. No commitment, no loyalty by players who can now jump from team to team. $$$$ has transformed College Sports to a place that has lost its luster for me. I'll still watch and pull for my team's but not like I use to. It's a shame after watching and being involved in sports for 60 +/- yrs.
This coming from a family still holding our 4 season tickets to a Maj. SEC College University since 1968.
Don't know how much longer that we'll keep these tickets as booster prices are out the roof. For those still reading this Happy New Year and Enjoy the National Championship game! Go SEC!  smitten

I understand the desire to not get hurt in post season bowl games (in anticipation of lucrative NFL jobs).

But this (revolving door) Portal and sitting at home by so many of the best players sucks.

Teams show up with a great record (earn their way in), then can't do squat.

Ohio State's starting QB goes to Syracuse where he is close with the staff via the Portal (but why not play the big bowl game first??), the second stringer is pretty good, but gets hurt in the first series, and the 3d string Freshman just can't move the ball.  Pretty disappointing.

Congrats to Michigan.

Hell of a game.  Each team owned a half.  Except the Wolverines took over again at the end.

It was really their defense.

McCarthy started missing his receivers on the big stage (which he never did all year).

I loved his deep pass that got tipped high, and was still caught.

GO BLUE.   cooldude

However, (very) honorable mention must go to the Crimson Tide majorettes.

It was a great game, but I could have watched them for three hours instead.  Grin   Navel maneuvers.

Michigan and Alabama a good game probably the champinship game. Washington Texas game was just a game. Michigan or Alabama would beat both of them. Ga should have taken the place of Texas. I know  that is not how it works who cares. You play the best. The portal should wait until Feburary before anyone gets the nod to transfer. NCAA just looks at money. The portol is a failure right now. They get all this money then there schooling should not be free.

At this point, discussing which were the best teams is a mute discussion.   Doesn't matter what any of us think.   I agree that the Portal Transfer thing is a bust.
