Two awesome Central Texas events coming this April. Both are the weekend of the 12th, 13th & 14th.

The Texas Fandango is a fun event at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds in Fredericksburg and is sponsored by the Antique Motorcycle Club of America (AMCA). Pre-order tickets are $15 for all three days ($5 per day!) and includes bike shows, races and a huge swap meet.  Plus, you get to ride through the beautiful Hill Country to get there!

Here's a couple of Hondas showing in the Antique Barn from last year...

The Handbuilt Motorcycle Show is like going to a motorcycle art museum. It's held each year just south of downtown Austin and is sponsored by Revival Cycles. Last year they had bands playing outside all three days (Austin is a music city). The music was good, but was kinda annoying when trying to talk to venders. In the past they've had hooligan races and stuff like that in the parking lot which was really fun. Not sure what their plan is this year.

Pre-order Tickets are $55 for all three days or $20 for a single day (yikes!)...they have gone up.

Just one of the bikes at the Show...

I'm planning on making both events for at least one day...hope to see ya there!

Also...

MotoGP will be racing at COTA the same weekend!  All kinds of options for tickets, but I could not find a day pass.  Those might show up later, but right now all available tickets are for all three days - April 12th 13th & 14th.

Practice session on Turn 15...

Went to the Fandango event last year. Never been (this event has been going on there for years) and it was great, except seems like ALL the Harley riders wanted to see whose bike was the loudest EVERY night at 2-3AM!!!!  We camped on the grounds, and I guess that is what you gotta expect at events like this!!
Besides that, loved everything there!!! I think the best was the "Chopper Races"!

Not going to be able to make it this year (Big Bend trip planned at the same time) but the buddies that went last year are staying in the Airport Hotel this year.

Went last year.... pretty good show.   They had some nice restored bikes but if there were more restored bikes it would have been better.   The races on the track were cool and the chopper races were fun to watch and at times almost comical. May try to go this year also

I plan to ride to the Fandango tomorrow (Saturday).  Don't have a specific time.

Sunday, I'll ride over to the Handbilt Show.

Looks like I'm gonna pass on the MotoGP this year.

You may be thinking of the Chopper Show at the Fandango.  It was a really fun show last year.

The Handbuilt Show is in Downtown Austin.  You can access the info through the link in my original post.

Went to the Fandango Saturday.   $20 for 1 day pass.  My buddy is a veteran and his was $10 I think.   Enjoyed the drive there as much as I enjoyed the show.  Was in my wifes car.   The road from Llano to Fredericksburg was absolutely beautiful windy twisty road thru the beginning of the Texas Hill country that was lined with bluebonnets and Indian paint brushes and yellow flowers and maroon flowers and red flowers all in peak full bloom.   Its a nice motorcycle gathering with a lot of neat motorcycles and good people.  Im 73 yrs old and the Only thing I dont like about large motorcycle gatherings is the younger crowds use of the "F... bomb" word.  The "F...bimb word" is slowly becoming a normal word used in the English language.  I really dont care to see it printed on T shirts and sewed on patches being proudly displayed.  There was quite a few T shirts there with the "F bomb" being displayed.   I just wasnt raised that way.    My favorite T shirt there was on a big burly looking biker that said
" Yall need to start Killing your local Meth Dealers".    Wow!!!!    What a message!!!!     If I was dealing meth and saw that I would be thinking " Oh crap!!"...ha
Overall was a good show with some good motorcycle racing events and a decent antique motorcyle gathering.   Large police presence and you are metal detected at the entrance for guns only.  Guns Not allowed.   Ok by me.   Saw several people with fixed blade knives on their belts so those are allowed.   Ok by me too.   Family friendly motorcycle show.

I made it out to the Fandango on Saturday and the Handbuilt Motorcycle Show today (Sunday)...

Both events were great.  The Fandango is really fun with lot's to do and see.  Antique motorcycle show, chopper show, flat track races, chopper drags, minibike races and a huge swap meet.  FYI, I bought a three day pass early and only paid $15.00.

I'll post some pictures later...
