before I break something There is a rubber boot i assume it needs to be removed Im afraid to pull any harder than i have so far. Im sure its simple, am i missing something ?

Presuming you've pulled off the lens here...

The bulb sits in a (rather deep) rubber boot.
I've found it easiest to just pop off the headlight and pull the whole thing out to work... really long needle nose help.
