And Martin Z Mollusk the hermit crab saw his shadow too. Predicts an early summer.

If we had a critter, it wouldn't have seen its shadow.  Heavy clouds.   Wish we only had 6 more weeks of winter, that would mean an early spring.

The 71 CL450 did not see its shadow yesterday on the lake (because the shadow was hiding behind the machine). An early spring it is then.

You are a talented fellow indeed. Carrying an ice auger while riding a CL450 is no easy feat.  Grin

Yes, an early spring for us in Minnesota.  The easiest winter I’ve ever been through, very little snow and only a short burst of cold; just 10 inches of crystallizing ice this year too.  The big bikes will have to wait for a nice rain though to clear the roads of salt.  But the ground hog, alligator, crab, and Honda all are predicting an early spring, awesome!

Well, not quite.  I was just out visiting a fellow on the lake.  I parked a good 100 feet away from him fishing, as I didn’t want to spook the fish beneath.  And the fishing was slow or I would have been tempted today.

cooldude Your pic reminds me of a winter many moons ago in Kotzebue, Alaska. I worked for a grocery company that sold all kinds of stuff. Honda motorcycles being one of them. I was able to buy them at cost. I bought a CL 175 and rode it all winter. Riding out on the frozen ocean for miles and miles. The snow would get so wind blown it was like concrete. You could hit 65 mph out on it. At minus 40 it got pretty cold going that fast. But doing 30 was tolerable.

I can't remember ever hearing/reading about ice fishing and motorcycling in the same paragraph.

I grew up on an island in Michigan, and I never once wanted to ice fish.  It was cold enough for me inside my house, let alone out on the ice.  I went through the ice a couple times.  Never over my head, but up to my chest.  And then I did a five second hundred yard dash, right onto my house and the shower, with my clothes on.

And I work hard at never riding any bike on ice.   Grin
