It has been a while since I got the bikes out for a ride, mostly cold weather, but some other issues as well.

Yesterday was a nice day so I took the bikes out for a short ride.  Just to make sure there were no obvious mechanical issues and I could still keep one on the roadway.

First linked video from the from the front and back cameras on the Goldwing.  Oh, and yes, the front camera on the Goldwing needs to have the "lens" cleaned.  Must have gotten some stuff on it when I was cleaning the headlamps.

Second video from the route I traveled in the Valkyrie and then the ST1300.

Oh, you have to select the higher video resolution at the bottom of the image.  It was recored at 1080P.

The "uneventful" rides tend to be the ones less remembered but are much more likely to have ended with a safe arrival.   I really enjoy those.  Wink

The "Eventful" part is that you got to get a ride in.  Not happening for some of us  Cry

Homestead looks good, and better in the Wing departure, than the arrival. Roll Eyes

I use a Contour HD (1080P).   They are no longer made by Contour but are available on Ebay (one source).   They work well and can record up to about 1 hour of video before the battery needs to be recharged.  (for example see first link below).  They do require a "manual" start.  There is also (or was) a mount that could be mounted on the windscreen.  With the Contour, it is easy to use the camera's slide switch to turn the camera on and off.

On the Goldwing I use the Vsysto B6 Dash camera.   It was reccomeneded by someone on the Goldwing BBS I also follow.  (For more information see second link below)

This is a video of Beartooth and Bighorn taken with the Contour.  I have used a Contour for the last 12 or 15 years.  I still do.

Its so nice to have the smaller rides sometimes.

Many times I just need to get out in the air, but do not want to or cant take the time and energy to do a bigger ride. It seems the rides break at the 50 mile mark for me.

So if I take a local ride and do chores like go to work and around its usually 50 miles or under. Once the decision is made to take a real ride the first leg is usually 50 to 100 miles alone then tooling around and then the ride back.

Either way it is so nice to have the air and freedom of riding.

Short or long any time getting out on the Valk is a joy. Glad you got some air time.
