It seems there are 2 main types of lift adapters. I bought the one that has the upright pieces that go up to the swing arm just after I bought my Valkyrie. Then I saw there is one that is flat that you can leave bolted on. My question is has anyone cut off the pieces that reach up to the swingarm and left them bolted on? Or can I still get the ones to leave bolted on? Were those from Horseapple? I did try doing a search on here figuring the would be many posts on the subject but I didn't find any.

Yes MarkT (horseapple) is the ones that stay on. No, you can’t cut off the legs of the other ones. I don’t know if he is still making them, he posted about retiring recently. Send him a pm.

If you know someone that welds nice they can make you one . And they go on and off so easily why would you want to leave it on. But always put a close pin on the wind screen so you remember to remove before flight..

I was just giving an example of things you can do if you really have the need.

You can also usually buy a used jack in most areas but in a real pinch even buying a new jack is cheaper than a mechanics rates. I am close to being on a fixed income and hopefully putting on more miles I'm looking at things to do to keep me on the road. I try to keep up with maintenance on my girl but stuff happens you know  .

Almost any shop (auto, bike, or personal friend) would have some sort of jack that could get it up in the air. I know of a member that bought a jack at Harbor Freight while 3,000 miles away, and then returned it after using it.

I have a lift adapter but it hardly ever gets used. My center stand gets used every day. When l park at the end of every day I use the center stand. If I have a flat l use the center stand. If I do any maintenance I use the center stand. If I need to remove the front or rear wheel whether at home or in some distant place I use the center stand.

Still making lift adapters. Listed on ebay - or contact me directly; cheaper. And pipe mods until I use up the parts inventory. My adapter is discrete, lightweight, and installs in 5 minutes without removing anything. No reason not to leave it on so it's there if you need to pull a wheel on a road trip.

Maybe. 20 years ago. When it was about doing it yourself. Blueprints on here about making lift adapter. I made one from metal. Still works great like it will 110 years from now.

Thank you for all the replies. The reality is by the time I go get some metal tubing, pull out the saw and welder yadda yadda yadda, for me Mark T's adapter is the best use of my time and money.
