Any fender can be made to fit. I'd say you have the same mounting hole problem with that fender as a VTX one. It looks like it could be fit pretty easy, from what it shows in the picture, but that can be deceiving. The fender on my Trike was made for a Ducati, and we welded the mount holes shut and redrilled to match the 2 holes to get it mounted on a Harley Wide Glide forks. If you have to go to a body & fender person for help it can and will get expensive if they are not a good friend. The ride is a Cobra Trike from Southern Indiana originally and now built up in Northern Indian by a different company called Renegade. I think from the original Cobra, (Ford burned his butt) it has changed names either 3 or 4 times. http://renegadetrikes.com/Here is mine>

Will a VTX 1300 C front fender work as well or any of the other VTX models?

Hey Momz, Looks good. Where did you buy the VTX fender mounts and covers? How much did they run? Also, does it matter what year and model VTX 1800?

Quexpress wrote a excellent "VTX Fender Installation" document but I am not sure how to get to it on the VRC site anymore but I do have a copy on my hardrive. If you want me to send it to you send me PM with your email address. Here is my cost for the mounting hardware..... Here it is on my 97 (along with a VTX headlight

Heres the link I think you are talking about. http://hammer.prohosting.com/~schutzrs/vtx_fender.htm Does it matter what year 1800 or are they all the same? Then they list 1800c1, c2, c3, n1, n2 and so on. Any difference? How much work was it to get the VTX headlight installed? That looks great.

I believe the 1300 and 1800 are the same fenders all years, the C variant is the one I have which is the smaller fender. The other VTX models have the oversize retro look like on the Valk. Sometimes the different numbers are for the color. The headlight is an easy addition, the VTX bracket matches right up to the mounting holes on the Valkyrie forks. The only problem is the three dummy lights on the Valk, the VTX has no holes for these. Some have mounted the lights in a little bracket. I plan on drilling holes in my headlight to mount them but haven't got that far yet, the light isn't really mounted as in the picture because I am adding the 6 degree forks which requires a slight mod to the headlight bracket to keep from shining in the trees. Dag Verpeide provided me a lot of info regarding the light and has a writeup on his site.

I'm not quite to the installation phase - the fender is at the paint shop now - but I followed the documented 1800C path. Everything appears to be different on the 1300C. 1800C Front Fender fiche1300C Front Fender fiche

It's not metal, it's more like a plastic like the side covers, etc. Some guys have used a soldering gun to burn a hole for those three indicator lights rather than drill it out. The drill might possibly crack the bucket.

You might have a good point there John, if the drill snags on the plastic it could crack it. I'll have to think thru this one a little more, thanks for the headsup.
