Tuesday morning after breakfast , my stomach felt like I swallowed an anvil. Put up with it, but was uncomfortable. Wednesday at my chiropractor appointment , I told him about the stomach and pain in the lower right. He put a little pressure on it and bout brought me off the table. He said I needed to get it checked out.
I went to V A hospital. E R at 11:00 and in operating room by 4:00. My appendix was inflamed . Good thing I didn't tough it out another day. Dr. said it would have ruptured. Laparoscopic surgery and navel hernia  repaired at the same time.
About 6:00 inpatient room. Discharged on Thursday afternoon.
I'll be 77 in a few weeks and I guess the warranty is done. I received good care at V A.  smitten

Good news that you got it addressed that quickly and the results seem to be very good.

Have not been there exactly but, did have some Afib a few years back.

Warranty expired, and the Check Engine light won't turn off...

Glad you got it checked out and taken care of when you did!

I'm sure sorry for your troubles.

Glad you got fixed Ross.

I still remember my dad being carted away in an ambulance for his appendix (50+ years ago).  Dad was a tough former Marine, and he was bent in pain, which scared me.

This aging into geezerdom is not for the faint of heart.

I've been walking 2.5 miles every single day for over a year now. (maybe missed a dozen, and did the treadmill on half of those, but I don't like the treadmill, I want to get out of the dang house!).

It's done me a lot of good physically and mentally.  But from the start, I had sore ankles, knees and hips.  Not all at the same time (one here, one there).  I've a natural aversion to doctors (and dentists even moreso), so I generally tough it out.  Over time, the aches and pains have diminished in frequency and duration.  The key is knowing when toughing it out may be a mistake.

I got a high left hip pain for the last few days, and I'm thinking; Is this a hip or something else? Is it musculoskeletal or some disease process?  Don't even tell me it's another kidney stone (please dear Lord, not that).  During this morning's walk, it's nearly gone.  Yayyy!

Going to be 60 this afternoon in the Old Dominion, so after some food I'm going to roll the old machine out and take the old body out for a ride.  See if I can avoid all the cell phone drivers (which is like trying to ride between the raindrops).  crazy2

Heh, every time I went through Interventional Radiology (13? 14 times?) they had to ask me some questions to make sure I was mentally aware... One of the questions was "Who is the current president?" And every time, they didn't care for my answer... Heh... (I varied it each time a bit but I'm sure you can guess the type of responses I gave)

Ross, does that mean I must have bought an "extended warranty" somewhere along the line?  Grin  Glad to hear the end results are good.  cooldude

Drs and Nurses advised Ross to take it easy and I can NOT recall the weight restriction he'd mentioned BUT he also stated he NEEDS a ride. Course That would be mucho easier on the G W trike. Holdin My Brother back like shoveling sand against the tide. RIDE SAFE.

best take an easy after surgery for appendix removal.  my wife had emergency appendix surgery last year 3 incisions and took months for tummy to feel so so.  she woke me up that morning 5 a.m. telling me need to go to ER, severe pain.  I was freaking out this during covid and the darn hospital said I had to wait outside ONLY 1 allowed in and that was my wife,  I was ticked.  I drove to ER breaking the speed barrier but luckily NO cops showed up for the 30 minute (normally 45 minute) ride to hospital.

I ignored my severe pain at work 2 years ago now almost hunched over unable to stand fully upright pretty bad tummy pain in one spot,  with 105 degree temps, and that night at 7 p.m. got my first ambulance ride shaking violently all over had diverticulitis perforated colon and coulda been fatal if not gone in.

The ( my opinion) majority of men ignore pain. Evil I'll be ok.  I have an extremely high tolerance for pain.  crazy2
If I say my pain is a 5 , most humans would be a ten(?).   2funny They wanted to give  me pain killers. I refused. I do not believe in them for every issue. I know there are times they are needed.
If you have lower stomach pain , a slight pressure in the area will help you decide. coolsmiley
